Post by: on January 12, 2003, 03:35:03 PM
Any of you play musical instruments? ANything from Clarinets to Violin. Guitar to drums.

Right now I\'m rocking an older Tama Superstar Drum Set. I Just need to add on some cymbals. The bass drum is killer.

How about you guys?

i had a really nice pearl set, drums being my first love.

but i sold to get the following...

fender bass guitar
johnson electric guitar (kinda crappy but does the trick)
asr-x sampler/resampler with effects processer. (great peice of hardware)

2 turntables and a mixer

various computer recording programs (cubase vst, sound forge etc...)

i pretty much got a ghetto recording studio in my bedroom.

ill be buying another drumset someday when i have a plce to put it.

 Gasp!

A warlock? You lucky bastard. Damn, I wish I had one of those. I love money, but sometimes it causes evil things. Like requiring a lot of it to get good stuff.

I have an Ibanez Soundgear, it plays good, except for the buzz on the E and A strings that I\'m too lazy to fix.

took about 2 years to save up for it. i love birthdays and holidays :) . of corse buying ps2 games and other things slowed down the process of actually getting it. Then when i went to guitar center they said they stopped selling it. so i bought it on musiciansfriend.com and i had to return it 3 times because of dents.

lesse... piano, flute, recorder (from bass-picollo), violin, harmonica, kazoo, slide whistle, fife, pan pipes, and voice (it\'s an instrument!).

The only ones I excell at though are flute, piano, and singing.

Well, at least it worked out in the end. I guess I\'m gonna have to start saving up.

And yes, kazoos are very professional.

I play the drums. I have loved percussion almost my whole life. I also play a little piano and I am trying to learn how to play the Bass. Bass is such a cool instrument if you know how to play it. It can seriously make or break a music recording.

I had a nice yamaha set that I got in High School but I had to sell it. I loved it so much. It had a sweet piccolo snare and crashes/splashes(I like to use these a lot). I miss it. *tear*

/me starts drumming on his desk with pencils for old times sake.

I play a lot of instruments just for fun... and he didn\'t specify professional level, though I mentioned what I do well.  :p

I started the kazoo after I saw some busker play beethoven\'s fifth on one, and have it not only sound good, but amazing.  Of course, when I play it, it sounds more like... well... lets just say I won\'t be making a living as a kazoo player.

EDIT (14/1/03@3:42):
Just for fun, here\'s a humerous kazoo song.
What does that smell like? (http://members.rogers.com/FatalX/teenspirit1.mp3)

I had a set of rums made by god knows who..god knows when.

I learned to play the keyboard briefly and gave up when I got interested int he guitar.

learned to play the guitar briefly until I was intersted in spinning.

Gave that up when I sold my stuff.

Now Im trying to buy my DJ tools again, but this time a nice DAC and beat machine will be included.

Yeah, I borrowed my moms friends Ibanez.

THanks to r4nd0m i can play the beginning of Iron Man.. :D

But yeah, Drums and bass are important, most people take drums for granted. Imagine your favorite song without drums? It would suck. After all- a drummer does sit on a throne, should he not be crowned king of the band :D

Buggered if I\'m going to search for a better pic.

Picking-up the old four-string again; my custom G&L L2000 will be arriving this week, been waiting 4 months for the damned thing!

Hey Ace, got any pics?

My Les Paul is at another location and I\'ll post a shot as soon as I can.

(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.reprovideo.com%2Ftele.jpg&hash=91fcebb7a63be514a02c91d61231b1007cad3f88) (https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.reprovideo.com%2Fpma_images%2Fstrat.jpg&hash=2af0b725e7cd187ac090b380cea2b5dc0208759b)

My Les Paul is an \'82 which I bought new for . . . can you believe . . . $575 with the hardshell case. It\'s has a mahogany back with a clear maple top. It has some scars but it the best sounding guitar I have ever had. Nothing sounds better than a Les Paul straight into a cranked Marshall.

The Tele is a \'52 butterscotch Tele reissue that is really sweet sounding. It has a real retro sound. I never really play it. It\'s a guitar I\'ve wanted for a while.

The Strat is an american Strat which I have customized a little.

I dont like the purple.... Those look ugly imo, but what ever floats your boat.

Oh yeah; i have an ibanez too. I dont know what it is or anything.  I know jack about guitars, i just goof around with it.

Zavijava: Mapex is good, I just forgot to mention them. They are a good set, if you can get a higher up set. A lower set they dont do much more for.

Love the Tele Ace.  American made?

Spudz: Just ribbing-ya guy; most noteworthy companies have an entry-level line of product, so you are right there is not much difference in quality to similar enty-level products from other companies, just the name on the kick-drum. Just don\'t let them fool you in believing that brand name equals quality assurance.

Hey Zavijava,

Yup, it\'s American made. It has the same wiring as the original and the finish will age just like the original guitar.
