Title: Def Jam: Vendetta looks amazing....
Post by: Heat on January 12, 2003, 08:10:43 PM: This is a new wrestling game made by AKI the genius behind No Mercy and WrestlingMania 2000 and many more. It features the rappers of Def Jam records. Try and think outside the box coz this looks great. Check out Methods front finisher in FM2

but in all fairness I agree with ya...this game looks very well done and I\'m gonna try it out cause it looks like a fresh alternative to wrestling...but when watching the videos of it, is this game 3d or cel shaded cause there are loads of different cutscenes where they have different looks to them

Cel shaded games are in 3D!!!

The game should be a blast for those who liked the AKI engine way better that what we find with Smackdown, Raw, or Wrestlemania these days.

But it\'s likely the start of a franchise, and as such, it\'s missing some key things. No create a wrestler. No weapons, even. And the modes are limited. No cells here. Not even sure if we\'ll see cage or ladder. Although cage was never much fun with the AKI games in my opinion anyway.

For multiplayer, each player apparently has to unlock the guys in single player in order to pick them. There are four guys available at the start.

The season for each guy is identical, so there\'s no real incentive to play through single player, except that it should be blindingly fun. :) We\'ll see.

I\'m just glad the engine is back. Oh, and it\'s not cel shaded. ;]

Post by: cridgedaddy on March 17, 2003, 01:33:23 AM: PSM gave this game a glowing review this month, which interests me. Also, the game is from EA Big, the same geniuses who brought us SSX and NBA Street...this might be a must-buy.
