Title: GTA:VC vs Getaway. Who\'s better?
Post by: Paul on January 16, 2003, 05:38:05 PM: I\'ve just got my hands on Getaway.

Only tried it for 15 minutes or so, here\'s my first impression, and would like to do a little comparison to GTA:VC

Graphics - I think Getaway have the edge here. Better texture, more realistic animation, better looking city, cars that reflects and facial texture that\'s look pretty good in the cut-scene. But Getaway looks pretty drab compared to GTA:VC imaginary Miami...but then perhaps it\'s because London is drab(no offense!) and Miami is colourful!!!

Sound/Music - GTA:VC wins hands down. Surround support + 80\'s music...nothing can beat this game!

Game Interface - (Getaway) doesn\'t seems to be very inituitive with online help for the first mission.....They should at least guide you for the first few mission like what u should do in GTA:VC.
GTA:VC wins again.

On first impression, GTA:VC seems like the easiar pick up and get into game. anyway, I\'ll be spending more time over the weekend with the Getaway to explore it further.

Post by: Kurt Angle on January 17, 2003, 02:00:14 AM: I have completed the Getaway, the free roam mode that gets unlocked gets boring very quickly. All the buildings you could enter in the missions are all closed of. There are just some hidden cars to find which doesn\'t take long.

Vice city is much better IMO for just driving around causing mayhem, especially with its amazing soundtrack.

Vice City if you like freedom.

I personally prefer The Getaway.

though. Could use lotsa work on small glitches and stuff.

GETAWAY SUCKS.

Read Gamespot review on it. I\'m totally with the guy on it. This game is so unpolished that I can\'t believe they spend what...3 years on the making?? Heck, maybe they should have just make Pacman instead.

while Getaway is just another action/adventure game, the GTA series has redefined games and created their own genre. if you look past the graphics there really is nothing special about getaway and it\'s been done before. any of you played the game MAFIA?
