Title: Rainbow Six: Raven Shield
Post by: Viper_Fujax on January 18, 2003, 06:00:40 PM
It was delayed yet again to March 21st. will be the third setback. except it seems to be an ongoing thing of delaying because americas army had the same problem. then again, id rather wait and have a perfect game than one thats bugged out then u have to wait for a patch. Just kinda ball-busting since iv been looking forward to it. guess ill just play the demo till it comes out. they have enough time to give a patch to the demo, maybe well get a new map.

that one with the nba live, i wasnt yelling at u about u trying to help him. i was just informing u he was talking about the CPU. But i do agree that console companies shouldnt even try to make any of the rainbow six games and put them on a ps2 or xbox. those games should stay on computer and go nowhere else.

Raven Shield just went gold today!

Is Fujax going to be on The Rumble again for RvS?

maybe not therumble. we stopped that a while ago. now were on fragpin and the combat zone. 22nd and 23rd is the demo tournament where the winner gets a free xcal server, which we have high expectations to win since we are top 3 on both ladders, and have been switching back and forth from rank 1 and 2 for a while on fragpin.

have u even played the demo? compared to all other fps\'s iv played it has the best map layout, reticule, running, sound, and its made by redstorm which has made some of the best FPS\'s in the past, starting with Rainbow Six 1. And whered you hear delay? It was delayed already and has been labeled Gold which shows its close to being released. It was supposed to come out in february, now its march 18.

From Gold to Ship in the PC world is a lengthy process, but it\'s also an oppurtunity to really test the game and make sure there are no problems and if there are, they usually have a patch ready as SOON as the game hits shelves.  Diablo 2 and C&C Generals both had the same lengthy delay.  Too bad Sim City 4 didn\'t follow suit since that game needed a patch badly.  Speaking of Raven Shield though, I hear the game is a lot more fun then past R6 games thanks to the fluidity of the Unreal engine its now using.  I also heard the game is a lot more like Counter-Strike in pace.  Any validity to that statement?

Raven Shield is quite possibly one of the best FPS games I\'ve ever played. Previously you couldn\'t convince me that a mouse-keyboard scheme was greater than a controller, but now I\'m starting to second guess myself. This is all coming from a gamer who\'s glory days involved endless nights of multiplayer action on Perfect Dark or 007:Goldeneye. This game brings that same deck to the table and then some. Truly a great game, and I\'m definately gonna buy it no matter when it comes out.

Iv only played counter-strike one or two times at a friends house. I think theres more of a run-and-gun/ spray and pray feel to CS than raven shield. Of course(along with every game) there are the people who do that in every game but in raven shield they are usually the people with 2 kills and 10 deaths. People that use strategy have 10 kills and 3 deaths, and people that camp get good stats but get yelled at by others, and in our server get booted. The reason for that is, theres a difference between setting ur ground and camping. Camping is sitting the whole time waiting for someone to luckily(or unluckily) cross your path, while setting ur ground is seeing someone in the distance going down a stairway and waiting for him to come out the other side. But i do think it is more fast paced than the previous RS\'s.
