Who will be getting this when it comes out on the 28th? I think Im gonna go pick it up. I loved the first one to death, and the commercials for the new one look great!

I will try and get it on the 28th - I may not able to tho\'. Either way, its one of the few games I look forward to.

If any of you don\'t get the game right away, I\'ll do a review after I get it. That way you will know if you should just rent it or not :) I\'m sure that wont be the case. I hope there will be a little better story though.

The game was originally schedueled to come out the 22nd now the 28th is the new date. There is talk of production problems and the game will be released in limited numbers.
Reserve now just in case.

I\'m getting it when it comes out and I can\'t wait...Capcom have said it will be two disks (one with Dantes game and the other for Lucia) and they have said that both will fight different monsters and have different storylines.
I loved and completed the first one, and oh yes! Ebony and Ivory are back too!

I\'m thinking about getting the first one but I read in numerous reviews that the time to complete the game is about 15-20 hours.
This is pretty short.I read the action and the characters were topnotch though.

Shit I have barely heard anything about DMC 2 why so little hype on the sequel to such a great game? Anyways I\'ll try and see if I can get a copy on release day probaly wont since EB is doing reservations for it. I hear that they made it so the skill level adapts to how well you perform in the game, any truth in that? If implemented correctly that would be pretty cool!

I read somewhere that Bradygames is doing the hint book for DMC2 and it will have boss hints including what weapons to use. it will also have the moves list and secret characters. I got the hint book for DMC after I beat it the frst time to see if I missed anything and boy did I! I missed most of the secret missions! the DMC hintbook did not have the secret about the statue at the begining of the game and if you got on top of the spear it would rain red orbs down on you. the hintbook for Timesplitters 2 didnt have a thing about platinum awards tho either.........it is a conspiracy I tell you!

I like figuring things out myself.
Anyway, the game looks great. The commercial was ok but, the ending line was cheesy as hell.

It\'s been awhile but i think i finished it well under 15 hours. It\'s a pretty tough game that becomes even harder once you unlock the hard mode. Shinobi\'s Super mode is a bit tougher tough.

Too bad Dante\'s original voice actor isn\'t doing his voice in DMC2. How is that a bad thing? Have you heard the new guy? The phrases ("Let\'s rock, baby!" and more....) just don\'t sound right.

I guess after he did the original, he became hot property, and they just couldn\'t afford him.

I read on another forum, and apparently egm is reporting an extra for the game similar to the towers in onimusha. Instead of doing a measly 30 floors though there is around 1000! Yes one-thousand I have seen pics around the 400 floor level. I have attatched one around the 300 floor level.

Dude! This game with desimate all! I cant wait now.
Oh, and I didnt even notice the voice change on the commercial, Had no Idea that they used a different guy. But they can use pitch shifters and stuff to make it sound like the same guy anyway.

The 1000 floor tower sounds like an excellent bonus game. It makes a change to be rewarded for completing the main game instead of a cheesy well done message.

that kind of reminds me of dark cloud, after you beat the genie you get to go through an 100 floor castle to fight a knicght for the best weapon for toan in the game!

7.0 7.0 and 8.0 These guys never cease to amaze me. The Getaway got scores of 7.5 6.0 and 8.0. They are all over the map. No silver for either.:crap:

It\'s marketing hype...how can you have production problem with pressing DVD?? As long as your master copy is ready, pressing DVD is straightforward as ABC. It\'s not like manufacturing a sillicon chip which will have to depend on the quality of the yield.
Anyway, I just have hands on with the Japanese version (yes people, envy me, hee-hee) for an hour.
I can only tell you that is game ROCKS!!!!! There\'s no cooler action hero game anywhere else on the planet!!!!

IGN says the game was a dissapointment. They are on crack... im picking this one up no matter what.

The production problem is that they did not input it into their system correctly so enough copies did not get pressed. Or that is what I was told yesterday at Sam Goody\'s.
I now have devil may cry 2 in my hands as we speak. I am at work though hating every minute of it. I guess in 4 more hours I will be ok when I pop it in, and see for myself how it is.
Anyhow while working I have noticed somthing while reading the manual, and I see somthing that I don\'t like. The combos are now more fighting game styled. r1 + u,d,l,r + triangle. Instead of the good old timing.

Ok I got it and yes it rocks. I have played maybe anhour of it Dante is back. he plays much like he did before. The main thing is that it isnt a hard as the first one. I sucked at the first one and had to play it on ez modebut I\'m playing it on normal and still able to hold my own. Lucia: I have only played a little of her but in some ways i like her better then Dante(she\'s better lookin) her demon form is bad ass. Will let you know more as I can.

I wouldn\'t believe that 7.0 that it got at IGN, especially when they also gave The Getaway a 7.0, worth much more than that IMO.

I picked it up yesterday. Its awesome. there are a lot of boss scenes, new enemies (which I find to be better then in the first game) and your powers are the same from which you had at the end of the first game. Your demon mode is the big guy. The game seems to rely on your demon powers more. In other words, you need to use your demon powers to acomplish certain tasks in order for you to move on to the next level or area in a level.
The only problem I have with the game is the fixed camera positions. It can be a pain in the ass from time to time, but not too bad. I have played for apx. 4 hours. I give this game an 8.5
Like I said though, im only into the first portion of the game and the story seems pretty good. I havent popped the second disk in yet to try and play as the chick yet. I\'ll have to do that tonight after work.

sighhhhhhh... Ok. Here\'s my rendition of my review. I am EXTREMELY DISAPOINTED! Heres my main problem with the game... I dont like Dante anymore. He was a cool character in the first one. always had something smartassed to say. In this one, your lucky to hear him say more then 6 words in a sentence. The story , so far, is almost EXACTLY the same as the last one, and IM BORED WITH IT ALREADY! i think I only have played for about 4 hours. I cannont belive they did this to a wonderful title. This is the BIGGEST let down of the year for me so far and its still January. I\'m not off to a good start for game releases. I don\'t know who the designer was for this one, but they should be beaten with a large stick with lots of nails driven into it, thrown into a vat of honey and then tied down to the ground and covered with large carpenter ants! BASTARD! :(

Yeah I am going to wait to get this one used or when it hits Greatest Hits... I saw the game while I was in Gamestop and the girl character plays almost like the BloodRayne chick.

yeah. It takes alot for me to give a game a REALLY bad review, but I think I need to cut this one a bit of a break. I have been spoiled by online gaming. Online is so much more fun, so, If I were to compare it to SOCOM, or Tribes arial assault, and a few more, then its going to fall short. If you havent yet played PS2 online, you will probably get a lot of enjoyment out of the game. If you do play online, or at least have played, then RENT this game. dont buy it.
