I was thinking about a thread that I posted earlier this week and was wondering if you guys would help me out. I think this could be fun. I was thinking about how cool it would be to make a game developed around the idea of the present day paintball games.
I was thinking about making it a first person shooter with many mini-games to boot. It would be based on a points scheme where you are placed in an arena with multiple players or jus by your self. This would allow for an online setup to work great. You could chose to battle it out in a last man standing speedball arena or you could play capture the flag with a cooperative group of friends either online or off. The current brand names would be available to you and you would have to earn money to purchase the equipment. I think the idea of having a grand or so to start would enable you to start up and move on from there.
Knowing how the game is getting hotter and more and more people are playing these days this could get some publicity out there for the extreme groups and for the brand names that would help in the sponsorships. I can see this being a hot pick for online cooperative play. What do you guys think? Help me out and let me know your ideas.

One quick question, for those that are more familiar with the way the game markets work, how would I submit an idea like this to somebody that would be able to do something with it. I know that the end result may be the circular file but I would like to share the entire idea with somebody that could possibly make this a real game. I don’t care if I get credit either, that’s not what it’s all about, I just want a serious game based on paintball and not some “GOTCHA” knock off. Come on guys, hook a brother up!

Uhh... a shooter without blood... hard to accomplish. Good idea anyway.
-
it does sound like a good idea but like he said with out blood it might not fair to well. I would love to help but I am more into storylines and RPG\'s
-
I realize that the assumption of any FPS is that it would need blood and gore but I think that with a fast pace the game would be ok. With a good blend of sound affects and Dolby sound the game would rock. The idea would be executed well if the multiplayer system of the game was excellent. I hate to say it though; this game as it stands would fair better having the same logistics and control as Halo. I would say on a brighter note however that I would settle for the same game engine that was used in MOH.

There\'s a paintball mod for Rogue Spear that is pretty good. It has the real guns, the speedball maps, the green paint splats, etc, everything except the money part.
-
hey, yeah. This would be awesome online. I got the perfect name for it to: SOCOM :)
-
Okay look here guys, I have never played SOCOM and I had no idea that it had such a mini game in it. I think that you guys are missing the point. Maybe I need to reiterate the original request for help in the matter. If you have played paintball for more than 1 time in your life then help me out with the logistics of the game. If you know of anybody that would be able to make the idea into more than just that, an idea, post some information here so I can try to have something made of the idea.
Not knocking anybody’s posts here, I’m trying to be serious. I don’t want to play a mini game, I want the big deal man!!!!!11

You can always use the paintball mode in Goldeneye in you want some hands on to work with:D Plus it\'s really fun and doen\'t involve blood.
-
project, chances are no one with the skill will look at your idea and say "OMG THATS GREAT, I NEED TO MAKE IT!". They\'d be too busy working on their own idea or a "real" game. My advice to you is, learn a bit of C++ programming, get comffy with allegro (http://www.talula.demon.co.uk/allegro/) and make a small prototype for PC. Then maybe someone can come along and say "you know what, this game is really clever, I\'LL STEAL THE IDEA!!". And then u can sue them!!!
Thats what I\'m doing :D
exept for the getting my idea stolen and going through the proccess of litigation part.

Yeah, Unfortunately now adays, you need to make your own prototype for a videogame. Pitching an idea wont make you any money. If programing isnt your thing (Which is definately not my thing) Find someone who loves it, work with them to make a prototype and THEN pitch the game to someone. You have to relize that there is no "easy" money anymore. That is unless you win the lottery:) But even that has its odds.
