Due to the overwhelming number of people choosing it as a write in option on the 2001 British Census, a new religion has been officially recognized in the UK. That religion: Jedi Knight. 390,000 people declared themselves to be Jedi\'s during the census, well above the 10,000 needed to make it an officially recognized religion.
Maybe my views on religion might be changing afterall :)

Sad, sad people over there...
-
They are going to go after Saddam with their Jedi Mind tricks.
-
Hmm strange, I thought the island of Cyprus was where the Jedi Temple was located :D
-
That is so freaky that you have posted about that today coz i was just about to post to c how many people actually did put that on the cunsus form!!!! =]
-
Lot\'s of people did it thinking it would be a made a recognised religion but unfortunately it was all a hoax. It will never be recognised as a religion.
-
Geez... England has some sad individuals.
-
OMG!!!! I laugh at this.... Dumb.
-
this happened in austrailia last year....I think.
-
Jedi wasn\'t even a religion in the movie...
Those crazy brits.
-
What a bunch of \'tards...
-
don\'t knock starwars dood.. without it alot of new computer technologys wouldn\'t have been invented. LOTR may not have been what it is today without starwars.
sad sad sad sad sad...

I just thought it was sort of lame. People take it way too seriously now.
I mean they camp out at the movies,
Now they have a religion
They have well over 100 books,
They have well over 20 games,
They have millions of action figures,
They dress like them,
They think its real (some of the pathetic people).
Theirs so much more. I mean, It was GREAT before they made the new episodes how they are today. I just think they could\'ve done much better without having to start the Crazyiness back up.
Hopefully Episode 3 will be up to the first starwars standards.

I told my mum I was a Jedi when she was filling out the form, BUT SHE SAID NO!@$ :( Must\'ve happend to lots of other kids, cuz its not official in Australia. :( ........ YET
-
\'tater! its just a bit of fun. sif we\'d walk arround in jedi robes with our fake lightsabres.
-
Yeah,
You do that.
-
so we can\'t live the life of the Jedi? oh crap... why not?
-
sure u can live the life of a jedi.... its just that you\'ll be bagged out for being a nerd.... BUT IF THERES ENOUGH OF US!!!!!!!!!!!! ...........

That\'s England for you :D I may be a pretty big SW fan but I\'d never make Jedi Knight my religion.
-
They were going to try that in Canada too... it\' fizzled when we were told that they weren\'t going to recognize it as a religeon....
It\'s persecution I tells ya! But just you wait... once our "cool" generation of computer-trek-wars nerds hit\'s their fifties and gets all the power..... then you\'ll see some sweeping changes..
My platform?
I favor lightsaber-control.
Harsher sentences for three-time dark-force users.
Cheaper post-secondary training for the jedi padiwan.

Star Wars, from episodes 4 to 6, is good entertainment. But it is still fiction, created by George Lucas. Religion based on pure fiction can not have a spiritual base; for at least the elder religions are shrouded with mysteries.
Jedis in the films didn\'t follow a religion, they followed a philosophy.
-
I usualy dont tell people this because it is very rude but I\'ll make an exception.
Get a life
-
teehee. :D :D :D :D :D :D

In the movie the Force is a religion :D Like one of the Imperial officers said to Vader "don\'t patronize me with that hoaxy religion Lord Vader" or something around those lines. Check out a new hope when they are talking about making the Death Star operational. Man, I\'m such a geek :nerd:
