I dunno, I\'ve just thought about it recently. My last game I bought was Age of Mythology for the PC in November, and I rarely play that. And my last PS2 game was, get this.... *drum roll*.... Madden 2003! It has been six months since I\'ve purchased another PS2 game. This is extremely out of the norm for me considering in my "glory" days of my N64 I averaged about 2 games a month. I dunno, I see the games coming out, look fun, but I just don\'t have that gaming drive that I used to have.
Seriously, only game I\'m probably gonna get next will be Madden 2004 or FFXI...
I\'m not sure if all of this is good or bad.

I have certainly cut down compared to 10 years ago. I still enjoy games though, but I don\'t have the time to play as much.
-
Heh, same thing here. I just don\'t play videogames as much as I used too, mainly because of school and my job and track. The last game I bought was Onimusha (Greatest Hits).
-
Yeah I really have been playing games less, very significantly.
I play Starcraft and Vice City only.. Even though Vice city isnt mine.
-
For my PS1 I bought a ton of games because I had it chipped. But I cant dare chip my PS2.So I dont buy often or many games for it.But considering my PS2 is one years old and that I am low in cash I think I bought many games.
MGS2,DMC,TTT,T4,KH,FFX,Wipeout,R&C,ZOE and got GT3 free with my PS2.
Now I am looking forward for DMC2(Yes I am going to buy it),ZOE2,SH2(I AM STILL SEARCHING FOR THE PLATINUM),SH3 and probabply another few.
Damn ZOE2 and DMC2 are sheduled for a european release in March.I ll have to pay 80 Cy pounds to get both.:rpissed:.
But I used to sacrifice a lot more hours before in videogaming.Ofcourse that was because I only playied my PS1 in summer when there was no school.
But now I have lost most of my excitement.Mainly becuase of the army and the depression I usually have because of it.

Here\'s a good time table of my gaming through the ages...
5: Sega Genesis / 15 hours a week
6: Sega Genesis / 17 hours a week
7: Sega Genesis / 20 hours a week
8: Sega Genesis / 23 hours a week
9: Sega Genesis / 25 hours a week
10: Sega Genesis / 25 hours week
11: Nintendo 64 / 30 hours a week
12: Nintendo 64 / 32 hours a week
13: Nintendo 64 / 35 hours a week
14: Nintendo 64 / 30 hours a week
15: Playstation 2 / 25 hours a week
16: Playstation 2 / 5 hours a week
*Notice my lack of loyalty to any specific console*

I\'ve also found myself not playing videogames as much, I have all consoles and hardly touch any of them. But I did get MK5 today so I\'ve been playing the Xbox a bit more.
MK5 is great BTW.
-
I still play the same. I do about 8 hours a week.
-
I\'ve put in roughly 7 hours a day over the past couple of days thanks to finally getting HALO and Sega GT 2002.
-
I play less than ever, due to work and the fact that there isnt any games that are worth havin\' at this point and time. I hope that when Zelda and Batman: Dark Tommorw come out, my play time will increase.
Another thing is I have grown more stingy with my money. I haven\'t been doin a lot of blind buys or collectors items. I have a fairly large collection and I\'m happy with it, so there is no sense in me spending the two hundred dollars a week I was spending on imports / rare / new games.
Not out growing them, just waiting for something to spark the interest.
Until then, i\'ll sit and watch DVD\'s.

My playtime has definitely gone down. It was pretty steady for quite a long time, but it kinda dropped off a couple of years back. There is really only one console game I\'ve been hooked on since FF9 came out, and sadly enough, that game was Star Fox Adventures (go figure). I\'m hoping that the new Zelda game will be something I can get hooked on. I did play a pretty good amount of Diablo 2 on my PC over the summer. However, in recent months, despite just getting a PS2 and getting games like Animal Crossing and Metroid for GC, I just haven\'t been drawn into games like I once was. Hell, my PS2 has been used as a DVD player at least twice as much as it\'s been used to play games on.

I play in spurts depending what seems to appeal to me at the time. I coud never really sit there and play for hours(except sports games mainly football). Its always been like that for me. Football game is why I got into playing inthe first place. It never seems to get old.
Short and sweet thats problably why I have finished very few games the thrill wears off quickly. I like having them more than playing sometimes.
-
I think I\'ve been growing out lately as well. Last game I bought was GTA3 and that was when it first came out...
Still though, I play Starcraft at least 10 hours a week :nerd:

Haven\'t touched a console for ages... PC gaming on the other hand! :D
Actually I don\'t play many PC games either, but that\'s because of my PC... generally I just like PC gaming more.

same here
plus i am getting sick of the PAL delays on all systems.
it never used to bother me so much until now, Eps when there are a whole heep of superb US and Japanese games that will never see the light of day in the UK :( :rpissed:.

I haven\'t played consoles for a long time... last game i played on ps2 was tekken4 and dc was virtua tennis and SC.
Pc gaming i still do, but not many games really get me anymore. It\'s hard when it\'s all been done before. :(

Of course I play less than I used to. I am married with children. Ok maybe only one child at the moment but I would rather spend time with her right now than playing videogames all day long. I still get in about 4 to 7 hours a week in but that is mostly on Friday nights and Saturday mornings when the kids still in bed.
-
Well, like the other ppl here I maybe play a bit less. But that\'s more becuz of external factors like \'free time\' and \'money\' than
videogames themselves. But my passion for games and how they
are made has only increased. Heck I study 3D animation now becuz of videogames. Of course the study takes alot of time away. But I\'m still as much, now at age 24 ( almost 25 :D ), into videogames as when I was a small kid.

I usually only find time to play on weekends when the wifey is still sleeping (I\'m an early riser...) or when she\'s running errands...
I played Drakan: The ancients\' gates for about 4 hours total this past weekend... & 2 games of NHL2001 with my brother.
-
I play around 2 hours a day. Last night I played SOCOM for about 4 hours. I dont think that I could ever grow out of video games. They just need to come up with some different styles. I think that is the only reason people "grow out" of them. Thats why Online gaming is so addictive. Think about the first time you played a game. I cant remember the FIRST game that I had, but I remember the first game that I owned. Super Mario Bros. I was like 6 or 7 years old. My Dad baught the NES for me. It was supposed to be a birthday gift, but he couldnt wait to give it to me, so he woke me up at 11:00 pm and we played for hours.... WOW. Havent thought of that for a long time. Anyway. I have been playing for ever, and will continue to play forever!
-
Same here..I only play about a hour or so a night on madden online for ps2...now with a son, hours on ps2 dropped..get to play when he sleeps.
-
yea i havent played my ps2 no way as much recentely... but there havent been any decent games come out since xmas in the uk
-
High prices on videogames are damaging the industry itself. In Europe the prices suck (please, don\'t speak about quality).
-
Christmas usually marks the time of year that i dont play video games. But from August to December i play the shit out of my PS2. I\'ll play Madden or NCAA College Football for at least 9 hours a day some weekends.
But besides those 2 games, i dont have anything else to play until a good basketball game comes out.
