If you\'re still not convinced, perhaps it\'s as good a time as any to point out that the Official PS2 Magazine has Splinter Cell as its lead demo this month - available fully five weeks before the game\'s March 28th release. A playable one level demo is also on its way to EG by the end of the week, and we fully expect it to deliver one of the most welcome surprises that PS2 gamers will have seen, and serves to create a new high water mark for visual excellence on the PS2, and unquestionably the finest stealth action title on the platform, by a mile.

Well, I\'m gonna check my bankaccaount this thursday and if I have enough money I might buy an Xbox with Splinter Cell. Somehow I feel I HAVE to play the original SC first, getting the
PS2 version can always be done later. (if at all...)
Certainly it\'ll be good on PS2, but ... think about it ; The visual
greatness CAN imo only be done with Xbox or high end pc hardware. The PS2 version is bound to have compromises. In
the \'garage\' screenshots of the PS2 version one can see a big
cut down in poly count in the environment and cars, not even
to mention the overall less crispy picture.

Excellent news, I can\'t wait till friday!
-
cool, ive not bought the last 2 ops2 mags... first ones ive ever missed...i prob get this though
-
Well because I own the X-Box version, there will be no reason for me to consider buying the PS2, GCN, or PC version. I barely play it, so I\'m getting through it very slow, I must say though it is a very enjoyable game and I reccomend it to you all.

Anybody got it yet ?
Impressions ?

it would of been if either
[list=a]
[a] The X Box version hadn\'t been made
or
The PS2 version of MGS2 hadn\'t been made ;)

so it sucks then??

In IGN they habe playied the demo. But suspect its in a very incomplete state yet and the slowdown issue might be cleaned up till the final release.

The games really are quite different in their execution. Ones opinion of either game shouldn\'t effect your judgement of the other.

Got it yesterday and it sucks donkey balls , it\'s just plain dull and boring add to that the worst control system I have encounted in a game+ a dodgy framerate and ai.
MGS2 anyday over this tripe.
-
Let\'s just hope it is a very early build.

Cos then you\'d have anything to compare it to ;)

I\'ve just got my hands on the PC version and frankly..after about 3 hours of gameplay...I couldn\'t really recommend it to everyone.
The graphics are nice but somehow it\'s just isn\'t as accessible like MGS2 where I was drawn into the story and gameplay immediately.
Too much trial and error and at times, it just too much of frustrating waiting in the dark and shooting light bulbs....
I can only give this game a 7/10.

Im buying the PC version tomorrow. I beat the demo 3 times, i think its time to get the full version..cant get tired of it. If you like run-and-gun and running everywhere, this is definitly not ur type of game. Im usually playing stuff like raven shield so this is a nice change of pace for me. Id recommend downloading the demo before buying it, just to see what the gameplay is like. And you cant really compare it to MGS2 like bob said.
-
Another frustrating thing about this game is it\'s very difficult to grab a guard from the back and knock him out. You\'ll be caught most of the time when u tried to sneak up to them and I was just contended to leave them alone after so many tries....
It would be nice to at least knock out a few of them and shake their bodies around or throw them into the water to feed the sharks like MGS2...
-
i got the game today, and as i expected it kicks arse. But i do have to admit, the trial-and-error and get kind of frusterating. But how else they going to make this game last longer than a week?
