The success of Naughty Dog’s Jak & Daker: The Precursor Legacy left little doubt a sequel was an eventuality, and next Monday, Gaming Age has learned Sony plans to official announce the title. Jak & Daxter 2 will be shown to the press, and it is expected SCEA will release details to the public.
Action nuts should expect an announcement on the next Syphon Filter installment soon, though it is not expected to be shown at next Monday\'s event. SCEI dropping hints on its online capabilities during a Japanese conference are just the beginning. Look for the full scoop in the near future.
Look for more updates on Jak & Daxter 2 and Syphon Filter as filters out.
:fro:

Syphon Filter Online you say? Nice :D
-
**Excellent..**
The first one was great, it just needed some tweaking.
-
I look forward to seeing this.
-
I\'m more excited about Syphon Filter with online capabilities. I do hope they adapt and update to the dual analogue scheme, and I certainly hope it isn\'t just more of the same.
Massive online support is a definate. I always loved SF2\'s deathmatch. :) It could certainly match SOCOM for online popularity if executed properly. :)

I believe they said December 2003 was the expected arrival date for J&D2. That was quite a while ago.

"In a seminar labeled "Doin\' It Again - the Ins and Outs of Sequels" at the Academy of Arts and Sciences\' D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas last week, Naughty Dog founder and co-president Jason Rubin spoke of the next installment in the Jak & Daxter franchise.
Talking openly about the ups and downs of working on The Precursor Legacy, Rubin admitted that Naughty Dog often doesn\'t achieve its ultimate vision until a sequel or two into the franchise, citing the Crash series as a perfect example. "We set out to make [our ideal Crash] game and then work at it until we make it right," said Rubin. "Crash 3 was that game for us."
"There is [that ideal] Jak & Daxter game that we want to make," he continued, "we just never reach it until the second or third game."
As for what to expect from Jak & Daxter 2, Rubin hints at a potentially darker sequel, with weapons as a probable addition. "There is no question that this new title is reacting and maturing to the market," he admitted.
Although SCEA has yet to officially announce Jak & Daxter 2, Gamers.com can confirm that the game will arrive this fall.

I bet they\'re holding out till E3 before going public with screens and vids.. :/
Oh well.. We get J&D2, GT4 and some other "small" titles to look forward to :)
J&D rocks!

J&D was nothing but a cheap clone of all the good 3D platformers before it. Sure it was a gorgeous game, but that doesn\'t count for everything. It was a huge dissapointment. Nothing more.

Says you. The general concensus, however, is that it\'s a really good game.

I dont agree..
J&D really impressed me. Great graphics, fun gameplay. Loved exploring the big worlds.
My only complaint about the game is the length :/
-
I\'ve never seen J&D 1... Someone needs to send it to me.

Yet.. the majority rates it higher than most other platformers out there. Go figure...

I love J&D!! The graphics are gorgeous and there\'s always something to see and think in each new level. Heck, it\'s one of the few PS2 non-RPG games I\'ve actually the patience to sit through and complete to the end!!
(I\'ve very short attention span for non-RPG games, usually unless it\'s Soul Calibur...:)
