This has been posted before. I know it has but I want to see what people say now. I was walking with a couple friends and we were talking about it. We are being attacked and not many countries like us anymore (not to mention the poeple of those countries). Our economy is going to shit (although this war may help to bring us out) and it is just like most great empires fell. So what do you think?

no we are not going to fall. At lest not now. Yes we are being attacked, we are haveing to face some things that we have never before. Our freedom is being attacked, we have never realy had the treat of this kind but we will make it. As fare the economy it has always been going to shit, untell we get a world cerertsey (sp?) it will stay that away.

I don\'t think we are going to fall either. We will recover. We recover so far from all our depressions and conflicts and usually come out stronger than before. That is probably what will happen. We can regain relations with other countries easily. When this whole war blows over, we will be good friends with our European "friends"

If there is a war, I don\'t think it would help the economy. But on the other hand, you never know. I don\'t know about this Nation being destroyed and taken from the title as a superpower and all that good stuff.
Being put to the maximum test? YES.
In danger of being tumbled by some long-bearded bastards that think they can **** up our buildings and get away with it? NO.
The president making stupid mistakes and that affecting the way this country grows? Sure damn looks like it.
Going into war and finding out Iraq had no nukes and all the countries begin to hate the US and destroy it and make fun of us and basically make us the next worst thing next to cuba? Hopefully not, but then again (refer to question right before this one)

While I don\'t believe Bush is a great President, he is, IMO, better then Clinton. If Hillery (or any other Democrats for that matter) will lead to the fall of the US if anything (giving blind faith to the UN, having the "World Court" dictate what we can and what we can\'t do, have the Kyoto Treaty which will hurt our economy and close off our forest so that we can\'t manage them [because, cutting trees is EVIL. Even though if a forest fire goes through it, destroys it, because the forest are so overcrowded that a fire now WILL destory it instead of the years before fire suppression], but not Africa or China where their enviornment is getting worse then ours, this is what the Democrats want us to do). [edit]Actually, maybe not the Democrats especially when it concerns the Kyoto Treaty, but flaming liberals like those that belong to PETA, Sierra Club, etc. Demcrats actually voted against the Kyoto Treaty.
[edit2]Speaking of our forest, we are now being forced to buy trees from other nations because of the environmentalist. Unlike the US, which has this thing called selective cutting that, saves some trees while harvesting others, other nations will rape and pillage trees and utterly destory their forest since we can\'t touch ours. Saving the environment?
Clinton weakened the military, weakened the CIA and FBI, failed to catch Osama Bin Laden, bombed nations that we had no interest to be in (Kosovo, that "chemical" plant that turned out to be a drug making facility), heck, even bombed Iraq for the same reason that we might go to war in Iraq now, basically, if anyone weakened the US stance, it was Clinton.

The US is not likely to fall before any other major country. My biggest fear is the concept of a one world goverment controlled by some unknown world leader.

Last i checked..Bush failed to do the same AND seemingly forgot about him to chase after Saddam.
If anything, that was good...it stops that many more from hating us and wanting to attack due to our policies in affairs that dont directly concern us.

Clinton hated the military. I\'m not saying that the military didn\'t need to be "reformed", but Clinton took it to the extreme and downsized it and placed generals that, didn\'t like to fight a "real" war so to speak (not to mention, he also stretched the military to its limits [Kosovo, Somalia, etc.]. In fact, seen the movie Black Hawk Down? Part of the embaressment to the US in Somalia is partly due to our troops unability to get the support and equipment needed from...dadada...Clinton. So, great day for Americans when our troops were DRAGGED on CNN by terrorist with likes to Osama Bin Laden thanks in part, by Clinton. You CAN\'T downsize the military AND increase their role in the world affiars).
Also, the difference between Bush and Clinton about OBL, Clinton was given OBL on a SILVER PLATTER by the Sudan. Clinton rejected it. Now you may say "but...Osama Bin Laden wasn\'t that big of a terrorist back then..." true and false. When Clinton turned down the offer, this was after the embassy bombings which Osama Bin Laden claimed respondsibility. Sure, not to the scale of 9-11 which made him known to every man, woman, and child in the US, but he was, even then, up there on the most wanted list. Now, we simply can\'t find the bastard (assuming he is alive. If he is alive, why is he using ONLY audio tape?). While I might blame Bush for his inability to find him or his body, at least he DIDN\'T turn down an offer to have him at his feet.

Basically, Clinton changed the rules on who can be a spy. Making it virtually impossible to get good information (i.e. unsavory people like criminals and so forth that could\'ve given us valuable information...like, I don\'t know, 9-11).
Also, Clinton\'s role in North Korea can\'t be forgotten. It was him (as well as Jimmy Carter) who opened the door to North Korea and gave them food and oil, and a reactor that was supposed to ONLY be used for nuclear power, in return that they will stop working on their nuclear weapons program. Funny, apparently North Korea...BROKE their promise and worked on it anyways. So, another situation that our great President Clinton...made worse.
The Clinton years may have won over the European leaders and the people due to Clintons inability to control "Mr. Happy". But, the rest of the world, they hated us then, and they hate us today. Clinton didn\'t win over people who hated this country in the first place.
