OK I don\'t know if you had seen them or not but ohh well.
I like the first one and the second one. But what the hell is up with the last one?
The third one looks to "computerized" and squared.
Here\'s the link btw:

the concept art went from mediocre to disgraceful. I like the idea of a system with skeletal colors, but I don\'t want anything to wacky. Similar to PS2, not boxy like the last one though.
-
i am opposite of mystiq. i dont like the first and second but i like the 3rd and 4th. 3rd because the design seems the same but has a keyboard, which the one i have for the ps2 is a pain in the @ss and doesnt always connect. cant really tell what the screen would be for. I like the last on the best cuz even though its not the best looking, its the best format with 4 controller slots. Not quite sure why you would need 2 cd trays though.
-
The thin one looked pretty chill...other than that, that\'s some really crappy concept art...
-
Wuuuugh! Makes you wonder how the crafty-black PS2 made it out of the "cool" box as grandly as it did?
First pic...can you say "Gamecube wannabe?" And why?
Second pic...forget the "Phantom Menace spaceship" theme...WTF is up with that Sega-Genesis time-warped :barf: controller???
Third pic... eh :shy:
Forth pic... only comment (besides it looking a bit plump) here is that the "PS3" logo should *NOT* be used as a "repeater" of the PS2 layout IMO. Something about the PS2 and how the "P" and the "2" kinda worked as bookends for the logo. But the "3" just seems outta place somehow.
Well...I guess I didn\'t much like any of \'em. And I\'m usually able to find good in things. Oh well, folks need to keep on designing I guess...

3rd one is just god damn fugly!
-
Lol, I like the last one the best actually
The third one looks too much like this radio i have
-
They all look like crap.
-
I think Sony should fire their designer and hire a new one.;)
-
if fakes arise when PS3 is still more than 2 years away, what will happen when 2005 arrives? We\'ll have to open a fake-forum :D
-
like the idea of the first one...
Ohh See through plastic.
Sexy :D

You need help ooseven, I don\'t even want to think about how a see-through plastic console would look in your eyes when you\'ve got your infamous beer goggles on :P
-
I want to hear more from Sony first.
-
They all look stupid.
Second one is the coolest, though. :)
-
Don\'t think those are real. Too crappy.
-
the second one (The real thin one) is the ulgiest of them all. The first one looks OK, I guess. the third one looks nothing like a playstation should look like, and the 4th one is almost the exact same thing as the ps2 with a few changes. to be honest. none of them impressed me. I liked the metal looking one on the link though......Kind of.
-
i hope u guys know that the 4th pic is a PS2 photochopped.
-
DAAAAMMN! Those are ugly as FU(#! The third one has to be by far the ugliest peice of $#!T out there. Now we are going to play on a 3 foot long crap pile? I hope not. The First one is ok. A little too gamecubish and not as astheticaly pleasing due to its dated g4 cube look (wich in my opinion looked better). Number two is just dumb. Queen Amidala Ship is right. Nasty. The fourth one is....well its unimaginative but not necessarily fugly. Its kool that it has 4 controller ports and the dual cd drive isnt too bad, (what they would do with it i dont know. Maybe instead they could have a 3 cd changer to switch games or sumthing). It looks heavy as hell though. Oh and whats up with the third analog stick on the last one??? Lame
-
I\'ll be happy with the same design with a different color. :p
-
They can\'t be serious about the last one (the one that looks like PS2). I hope they do a better job. I\'m pretty disapointed.
-
i hope none of you guys seriously think those are sony prototype models

I think some people here actually do think so....
-
1st-it looked pretty good but weird at the same time
2nd- that one looked the best to me very nice.
3rd- /me throws up
4th- What the hell??? A double decker ps2? :crap:
-
I can\'t wait until real concept art comes out...not some fake pieces of crap that some loser who can\'t use a graphic program made in his spare, useles time...
-
The first one is the only acceptable concept if you ask me.
the others are just craps done by photoshop noobs.
-
None of those concepts are from Sony and a few of them have been around for a year, created by fans
They all are ugly anways.

Systems are going to be pushing to be integrated into people\'s existing home stereo systems. These game systems are no longer kiddy games. They are entertainment systems. They need to make the darn thing standard component size so it fits nicely in a rack.

actually, that is imo THE WORST thing that can happen !
The videogame industry as it\'s now with the current way of
doing ; single unit console and single unit dvdrom disc > keep
the industry niche and innovative yet profitable. Imagine if a
company like Nintendo had to fit their Gamecube and software to the guidelines of av companies\' hifi sets, or Whirlpool\'s new microwave. Utter madness I\'d say.
So my point is, if things turn out like that ; integrating gaming into
household stuff (Cell concept anyone ? ) > on a big scale companies of \'other\' apparatuses than the original console makers will want their piece of the pie and their say into videogaming.
Gaming will become mainstream to an extent where compromises will be made which will only hurt it. So I say, thumbs up for Nintendo who wanna keep a console a console :thepimp:
-
What are you talking about? I\'m saying the case shouldn\'t be a stupid box or an idiotic spaceship looking thing. It should look like a standard A/V component that you could fit on a rack.
I have no clue what your point is, but I\'m sure it\'s there somewhere. If you are saying that I want to play tetris on my toaster then you need to reread my original post.
-
Can\'t you see the BIG picture ? Of course i understand that you want your console casing shaped like the rest of your hifi set or
whatever it may be. But what I\'m talking about is the hinting which Sony and MS do at \'integrating\' videogaming into a \'complete wholesome media concept\'. Sony hints at it with their
Cell processing distribution over various hardware. All I\'m saying that there is a certain danger if companies behind those \'various hardware\' get a voice into gaming itself. Like in team sports, you don\'t want other ppl than the coach/technical staff picking players and making decisions for the team.In this case it\'s the game devs
Anyway, I\'m all for a distinguished console casing. a piece of hardware which is unique and stands out.

I agree completely, has anyone seen the pre-amps that Rotel did a few years back, same size as a CD player but half as tall, fuss free front and a solid build quality. If I could cram the components from a PS2 into one of those boxes it\'d be lovely.
Actually, I may go and get a hack-saw now as I don\'t use the Rotel any more and the PS2 hasn\'t been touched in a few weeks.

Meh. what sony wants to do is... well, kinda dumb, and as much as i love sony, i think they are just trying to make their consoles so universal that even non gamers will buy them thus bringing in da bling. Either that or they want consoles to last as long as they used to in the good ol days but the way technology and all that fine stuff is progressing (not to throw in poor innovation) i dont think thats possible right now.
