Well one of the lead driver programmers at nVidia now works over at ATi as some head driver honcho, so their drivers which have coma a long way since they introduced the Catalyst series is bound to become better.

With AA turned ON the Radeon 9700 pulls ahead, but turn it off and the FX comes about dead even.  Personally I never bothered to turn this feature on, do you guys?

The 9800 looks amazing spec-wise, any word on availability & price (and hopefully a price drop on the other Radeons).  Why doesn\'t nVidia do this???  Like I said before competition = a good thing.  No need to be hardcore fans of any camp.  Just grab the best deal and best performance at the time.

I\'d never turn it on prior to the 9700s and 9500s... the performance drop was too great.  But when I finally pick up a 9700pro (or greater, who knows) I doubt I\'ll play a game without it on.  AF and AA makes games look so much better.

mm, your driver argument is getting old.  If you have used an ATI card recently, you\'d know that their drivers are just as good as nVidia\'s.  I\'ve never had a single problem with drivers on my 8500.

The AA on the 9500 is great.  Unfortunately it doesn\'t play nice w/C&C Generals.

Figures don\'t mean much unless it can perform well running a variety of games. It is faster than my STB Velocity 4mb card though.:D

There is a 9800 coming out......Crap and I just bought the 9700Pro 3 or 4 months ago!  But ATI\'s drivers are Great! I had problems with Nvidias when I had my Geforce 2.

Why are the masses removing their pre-orders from Nvidia for ATI cards?

Right now, if i were to choose between ATI and Nvidia, i would have a ATI card in my machine.  Nvidia will lead the price market. But that doesn\'t meant their cards are better. It just means people are buying the cheaper cards TI4400 etc.

The FX v Radeon9700+ is a different story. Who would want a card that has higher gpu/mem core speeds while being loud, hot, pricey and still not performing as well as the cheaper, quieter, cooler card?   I mean, you HATE that kind of thing don\'t you mm?

seems to me the masses in here are against.. not with u mm..

Not to say nvidia aren\'t a good company. Right now they are in the dumps till they get a card out that can compete with the radeon cards on the same levels, being cooler, around same price and same noise levels, if not better at all 3. :) hope they pull it off.
