Title: the shrinking product...
Post by: CHIZZY on March 07, 2003, 06:37:02 AM
Has anyone else noticed a rash of products that are shrinking in size, AND increasing in price? I mean, a bottle or can of beer is 11.5 OZ, instead of 12 like it used to be, and I bought a package of tic-tacs and they were all half-full.....

\'sup wit dat? I feel cheated! (especially about the beer...)

Cookies are the biggest culprit of this.   Those packages just get smaller and smaller and smaller.

yeah, and if you buy a bag of chips, they have more air in them then anything else.  They\'re cheating on the Tic Tacs now too??? Whats this world coming to?

They reduce the quantity but keep the price the same, they do that a lot so they can say "Still only 25p" or whatever.

Quantity is not the only place I have seen these cuts. What about the quality of the products. That too is begining to lack a bit.

You pay for the weight of the chips. Not the bag size, all the air is for packaging.

However they do rip you off, you pay top dollar for sh#t all these days. Once any company gets large enough, they always reduce product size, quailty or both and make people pay more.

The air in the bags I think is to protect the chips from getting crumpled.

I don\'t think you even old enough to know what your talking about!:p

When I was younger the cookies were bigger and the prices were smaller. There was less air in the chip bags and the Slurpy was as big as my head! Oh the good old days...:)
