Oh my God I laughed and laughed when I saw this.  I do hope the guy is okay, though.  Sorry if this is a re-post.

What in the heck causes your bike to do that?  That thing looked possessed.

That looks like the Isle of Man TT races. Someone seems to die every year at that event.

they\'re called "speed wobbles". and they happen on a lot of things, bikes skateboards, etc. I\'ve taken many a spill on hills
skateboarding that way... you go real fast, then you overcompensate your steering, it sets up a chain reaction -type thing, then you bail... it sucks.

It\'s called a "tank-slapper" It happens in all forms of powered motorsport, when a vehicle as travelling faster than the tyres can handle, they start to slip, then the driver instinctively tries to rescue the situation by steering with the skid. As they do so, they become more unstable as the vehicle increases side to side momentum. I think the term "tank-slapper" has something to do with when the fuel tanks are half empty/full. The sideways centrifugal movement of the fuel in the tank (especially in older bikes), amplifies the instability of the bike when this sort of slipping occurs.
