Thought you might be interested in this!
GASOLINE SOLUTION?
We CAN buy gasoline that\'s not from Middle East.
Gas rationing in the 80\'s worked even though we
grumbled about it. It might even be good for us!
The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should
return the favor. An interesting thought is to
boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up the car,
you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of
Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don\'t
import their oil from the Saudis.
Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that
every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money
to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and
my friends.
I thought it might be interesting for you to know
which oil companies are the best
to buy gas from and which major companies import
Middle Eastern oil.
Shell............................205,742,000 barrel
Chevron/Texaco.............144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil.................130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway......117,740,000 barrels
Amoco...........................62,231,000 barrels
If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports
amount to over $18 BILLION!
Here are some large companies that do not import
Middle Eastern oil:
Citgo....................0 barrels
Sunoco............. ..0 barrels
Conoco.............. ..0 barrels
Sinclair............... 0 barrels
BP/Phillips.......... 0 barrels
Hess...................0 barrels
All of this information is available from the
Department of Energy and each is required to state
where they get their oil and how much they are
importing. They report on a monthly basis. Keep this
list in your car; share it with friends. Stop paying
for terrorism.............
But to have an impact, we need to reach literally
millions of gas buyers. It\'s really simple to do!!
Now, don\'t wimp out at this point...keep reading and
I\'ll explain how simple it is to reach millions of
people!!

Hey thanks man. Ill keep this in mind the next time I fill up. Im with you man. It would be nice to get EVERYONE to do this
-
Woohooo Screw shell. You guys suck..
Off to BP I go.

LIZ HAYES: There is a place in the far north of the world so majestic that even man has let it be. It\'s a part of Alaska that has been left untouched and largely unvisited by humans, but for one creature, it has been feeding ground, calving ground, and home for the last 20,000 years. This is just one small herd of caribou of the hundreds of thousands that come through here every year. It\'s a journey they make over hundreds of kilometres with their young. But according to conservationists, this is the sort of thing that would stop if George Bush had his way.
Silly human, the world is only 6000 years old. Besides, even if you don\'t believe the Earth is only 6000 years old, there is no problem with drilling for oil there. I need to drive to get where I am going and to live in the manner I do today. No amount of pitty for some caribou will get me to think badly towards what Bush wants. I say start diggin\' boys...and girs of course.:D

What in the world ARE THEY TELLING U THERE?
The terrorist right now IS BUSH!!!!
And whatever terrorism comes from Saudis happens INSIDE SA.
BTW:In an old thread of mine I ve told to u people that by attacking in Iraq Bush is provoking more terrorism. In Yemen an English and an American have been shot by an arabian co-worker.
In SA bomb attacks start again.
Also there is a high risk that your "peace bringer" Government will cause more problems to u Americans.Right now its only Saddam(who actually isnt a thread). Then the whole islam will become a thread. And u know something?Thats probabply what your government wants.
USA:We will save the Iaragui civilians from Saddam\'s Tyranny and dictatorship.Lets bomb.
Iraqui people: DONT SAVE US DONT SAVE US!!!
The Iraqui\'s chose Saddam as their leader. One of their most importamt rights is deprived. And most of the Iraqui\'s suffering is your USA government\'s fault. Not Saddam\'s.

I was gonna respond but it would not be worth it... Someone needs to move this thread now to the politics forum

Yeah, and that’s why I have read articles of people who live in the Detroit area with relatives over in Iraq that will tell you, some mornings the Iraqi soldiers would pull people from their homes at gun point to force them to protest our efforts to save them. Unicron, your nothing more than another Dixie Chick and you might do well to shut your mouth. Pathetic!:rpissed:

Like the 13th chime from a clock, this statement discredits everything that went before.

PATHETIC?YEAH!!They ve been showing that stupid f^cking idiot president(yes Bush) all over the European channels having his hair fixed, smiling AND DOING REHEARSALS exactly before his speech!!!JUST LIKE A CHILD PREPAIRING HIMSELF FOR A THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE!!!HE IS A HYPOCRITE!!EVERYTHING IS STAGED!!Thats what I call pathetic.
A Greek who was formerly in NATO confessed that they are paying people high amounts of monoey FOR PROPAGANDA AND TO MANIPULATE THE TRUTH!!You think ur soldiers are being told the whole truth?Do u think u are being told the whole truth?
I hope they are showing u what\'s happening in the whole world right now. What people are saying.U ve read articles about Iraquis living in Detroit eh?HAH!!How about seeing them?I assure u I ve seen interviews that tell contradictable truths to the ones ur governemt sells u.Sadam may be a dictator but things are a LOT LOT different than u may think.
If u want to see the truth you shouldnt live with the attackers nor the attacked.
And what should u care about the Iraqui\'s?Ur stupid president doesnt. Its actually your own ass you are worried about. You should be NOW!!World order might be losing NOW!
If u want to feel sorry about the Iraqui\'s start feeling sorry about other countires ruled by dictators. But they will never get help by any USA government.
Dont misunderstand me.I have nothing againts u personally.I would have most surely believed the same things you believe if I lived in America. But living outside any affections from the USA and the islams I see things clearer.

I think I\'ll boycott anything out of the Middle East....actually, I just use their gas. I\'ll boycott that :)
-
Boycotting is stupid, if you need gas, buy gas, you silly people. It\'s not like we dont want to pay taxes on british tea folks.
-
Yeap, its all so simple. There are pelty of other abundant sources of oil. Screw those dirty arabs. I vote for prject86 as president.
-
He\'s got my vote :D
-
Sure, project would make a good pressy...
just dont start ****ing those interns ;)

A vote for project is a vote for America!!!

Theres one HUGE flaw in trying to boycott oil from say, the Middle East by not buying from a company like...Shell...oil is fungible. What does fungible means? It means that Middle Eastern oil is no different then say, Russian oil, or Mexican oil, so in turn, can easily be mixed in with any oil. And BECAUSE oil in fungible, ALL companies in a way, use Middle Eastern oil. How so? Even if, said refinary is owned by "Texaco" or "Chevron", ALL companies (even so-called competitors) WILL pull up to one of these refinary and use that refinary. In fact, companies routinely buy oil from each other if, say, they have a shortage from in their own supply. So the end result, the only preson that is hurt in this "boycott" would be the local gas station owner since, no company is innocent in using (or in this case, not using) Middle Eastern oil.
Nice idea. I wish I could do this, but, it is impossible.

I respect your post here friend but talk is cheap. I would need to see some evidence towards this statement before I lay down this boycot.

Don\'t get me wrong. I like the idea of a boycott. But, as the link I provided above shows, due to the nature of oil, such a boycott can\'t work unless we boycott oil period.

So here’s the story, a gas company buys the oil from a middle eastern country per say and then the oil is sent to a refinery that in turn mixes it with another gas companies oil purchased in the States. The mixed oil is then refined and used to produce gas and then distributed to the gas stations based in the amounts derived from the crude oil originally sent to the refinery.
This still indicates to me that by boycotting the companies that import crude oil into the States we could have a profound impact on the Middle Eastern countries. Just because the crude oil is mixed over here and distributed along with the oils found elsewhere does not mean that all of the gas companies had a hand in purchasing the oil from the Middle East. It simply means that the oil refineries are unbiased to what oil they refine. The gas companies, not the refinery, spent the money that was spent on the crude oil.
In saying this I still believe that the boycott will show the companies here in the States that it is not profitable to purchase their oil from the Middle East.

haha, what the hell is the idea behind that image? (Other then the fact that you would never see a cow jumping out of the water)

Simply put, that you would probably see the depiction in the picture before you see me get elected as president. But the votes are nice!:D
