but does FOX really have to put the coverage on every channel? If I want to stay tuned to the war, I\'ll go on the FOX News channel. I was really looking forward to the Simpsons tonight (don\'t ask why) and all I got was Fox News talking about the war. I started flipping through channels and find about 10 other stations that had FOX News broadcasting the same thing. And all the other stations (although I don\'t mind becasue I don\'t watch them) had the news programs on and in Iraq since probably this morning. I really hate the US media. What are your thoughts? Do they really need so much coverage on the war?

I dunno..I watched both episodes of the simpsons tonight. :) Really the only channels I have seen broadcasting all of this non-stop have been msnbc, bbc, foxnews, and cnn.

What episodes were on tonight? Up here in Jersey, I don\'t know why but they always but it on all the major channels. Its really annoying. On 9/11, every channel and I\'m not joking, every channel had Fox news on it.

It would be pretty insensitive to show a bunch of mediocre crap while all that tragedy occured on 9/11...

Affliates can choose to do whatever they want if Network gives them the choice. I think here standard broadcasts were on last night as well giving all the cable ops the war coverage.
There is a reason why people put the war coverage on. PEOPLE ARE WATCHING!!!!!!
Have you seen many commercials? Um, nope. Because they know the second they put a commercial on people are going to turn because the reason people are watching is because they are waiting for something big to happen.
The news networks are losing their asses right now just like they did after 9/11. But they are trying to push themselves into being your station for the rest of the year when things are slower.
So, in summation... THe reason you see war coverage on so many stations is because people are freaking watching it.

I found proof that people can\'t get enough of the war.
