Post your favorite quotes here. These guys say the best things..

He said: "The invading forces did not succeed in penetrating Um Qasr," which overlooks the Persian Gulf.
The minister, dressed in the military-styled uniform of the ruling Baath Party, added that the Iraqi forces were "fixed in their positions," denying that any Iraqi soldier had been taken prisoner by the U.S. and British forces.
He accused the forces of kidnapping Iraqi civilians and filming them on television as Iraqi prisoners of war "after these forces succeeded in putting a foothold in the city of Faw."
He insisted that Iraqi artillery was "until this moment pounding the American and British forces in that area."
On the damage from Friday night\'s intensive U.S.-British bombardment of Baghdad, al-Sahhaf said 207 Iraqi civilians were injured, most of them women and children who were now being treated in five different hospitals in the capital.
-
Iraq has also said that they are convening the top officials to discuss a counter-attack that would completely destroy the Allies...
You mean AFTER 3000 bombs are dropped?
-
"They (US troops) are in a quagmire from where they will leave only as corpses," Sahhaf said.
The minister also said that "seven million armed fighters of the Baath party are deployed through all the territory of Iraq to fight the hordes of invaders", together with six million volunteers.

HOLY SHIT!!!! they have 13 million soldiers!!!!!!
-
 Looks like they (Iraq) are getting desperate now for any soldiers or allies they can win to their side. The Iraqi people know damn well that they (Saddam\'s regime) are losing and when they are liberated (which this happened in southern Iraq) will be happy as hell.
-
Yea you say that now. But the war is going to take a very different twist once in baghdad.
I hope the allied deaths are as low as allowably possible. It is going to get ugly.
-
I was about to say..You gotta love the American propoganda machine...Hmm!
;)
This whole war is nothing but media whores and propoganda on both sides. Disgusting really.
-
The US media is not even close to the Iraqi media. Don\'t forget, the US media doesn\'t give a rats ass what the government thinks about them. Hell they make tons of money breaking stories on the government. And with reporters out there in the field I guarantee you we are hearing about things way way way before the government would like us to.
On the other hand, the Iraqi government controls what comes out on their side. No checks and balances. No ambitious reporters to dig out the real story.
But what would I know, I only lived it for 8 years.
-
No offense, Vid. My point was only that the media is doin\' nothing except serving as a propoganda machine. Then again, I think airing the bombings and what not is just downright disgusting.
That\'s just my viewpoint on it. I see no reason for everyone to see cities and people being killed...
Question : If it is illegal to air an execution. Why is it not illegal to air the bombings of a city? Countless people die in each war - yet the media and people are eager for a front role seat.
-
It\'s a bloodless strike. Hell, how many times did you watch the world trade centers fall? News rules are no blood and bodies, but to tell you the truth I think all bets are off with wars. People need to see what war really is. That war isn\'t just lob a few cruise missles in and keep your fingers crossed.
And I have to agree that the government can hold information or push forth false information to the media, but the difference is that in the US the news organizations fight for the true story even if the US government puts forth falsehoods. They have to. They want to be first with the best story.

No, they really don\'t. If you just look at the contrast between our media and that in European nations, and other nations around the world, you\'d see the difference.

I did watch some BBC stuff yesterday and I\'d have to say I liked their video a lot more. I guess it\'s because they have crews at the air bases and such.
-
:D both sides give off lots of BS propaganda.
-
Put at least there is a shred os truth on the US side. There isn\'t a single truth on the Iraqi side. That dude who speaks for Iraq is a head case.
-
Yeah, but they are funny as hell :D
-
During the first Gulf War, Iraqi television reported that 40% of Americans had AIDS.
-
Yeah, to warn the women away from them ! :D
-
"The war will be short and swift"
Oh, Iraqi propoganda...;)
-
Ah yes, the war will probably last longer than a month now. Yeah, short and swift my ass. I swear the American propaganda machine is giving Iraq\'s a run for it\'s money ;)
-
Chaney said weeks. Bush refuses to give a timetable. That is all.
-
In weeks he says?! The propaganda is unbearable! I bet that fat bastard said it would be over in less than 4 weeks!
-
I think this war will take like 6 more months but that\'s just my opinion.
-
Baghdad will implode on itself. There is no way his republican gaurd can last long. We are pounding the shit out of them. They are getting no sleep. They are totally cut off from getting more ammo/food, etc. They can\'t last very long.
-
Dude, Saddam doesn\'t give a shit about anywhere beside his home town and Baghdad. Baghdad will be the war. That;s where he\'s setting shop. Baghdad itself will take atleast 1 month, probably much more.
-
damn, I didn\'t know you kids were expereinced field marshals. you guys should be running the show instead of those incompetent hacks.
-
^I gathered that information from atleast 2 former generals on CNN, thank you. Your word over there\'s now.
-

Airport to become \'graveyard\'
He said that if the Americans and British did not surrender, the airport would become a "graveyard" for the "American villains."
Sahaf said reports that U.S.-led coalition forces had secured the airport were not true, and compared those reports to the movie "Wag the Dog," in which Hollywood filmmakers faked battle scenes in a studio that were then shown as television news reports.
"Most of you saw the American movie, \'Wag the Dog.\' ... [M]ost of what they did yesterday and today at dawn has some scenes that resemble that movie."
Sahaf lashed out at the coalition forces talking about a postwar Iraq. He said that U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell is talking about "how to share and divide Iraq as loot after the war."
Sahaf said postwar Iraq would continue to stay under the leadership of Saddam Hussein, and the coalition forces would be gone.
"We will chase them and go after them as war criminals," he said, adding that the "United States will no longer be a superpower and its demise will be very quick."
Sahaf warned that the war would bring nothing "except humiliation and defeat" to the coalition forces.
"Iraq will stay. Its civilization is 10,000 years old and it will not change by villains like those British and American villains," he said.
