I\'m just going to throw something out there.
Is spending 40-100 billion dollars on the war against Iraq worth it?

I\'d say yes, it\'s worth it.

I really don\'t care about the numbers associated with the war. The price to protect us is not important. Finish the job and then worry about the costs.

Couldn\'t find a direct link with him saying that yet but there\'s a pretty good article dealing some economic problems.
Let\'s keep the topic on the economy. It was my fault for bringing up something Bush said that sparked the different issue.

Yeah, But what does that say about Bush and his priorities?
1.) Kick Iraqi people\'s ass and end the regime.
2.) Pay the price later. He shouln\'t spend the money he doesn\'t have.
Money is everything in the world. Yes you might say that human lifes are worth more than any amount of money. But he should think about the future. When the war is over? How is he going to respond to the lack of money? How will the people respond? Sure you say it\'s for a good cause, but im sure you will have problems with it when you start seeing the problems emerge.
And Jump is right, he shouln\'t be spending so much money on a war that isn\'t needed.
I had NO idea Jumpman was against the war also. Usually you\'re my enemy in these kinds of arguments.

yes. in a long run. war will be exelent for economy.
first usa gets co-operating or a puppet goverment to irak and therefore to be first priority country for the oil And reconstruction of the country.
at the moment it seems like the American companies get to do all the big contracts on new water&electricity facilities, and other countrys may get some scraps.
If everything goes well for usa they will control the money flow in Irak and due reconstruction and depending money spent on people. Irak will have people happily forgetting what happened within 20 years, while watching american soap operas from tv...
(ok. i may be sligtly paranoid.. but people do forget quite fast)
