i was given this list of things that you can send to our troops.  Thought some of you might be interseted in sending some stuff yourself:

batteries (AA, D cell)

Stationary sets

local newspapers
playing cards
paper envelopes, pens
stamps
disposable cameras
wash rags
shoe insole cusions
black sunglasses (No brand names)
hairbrushes, combs
chapstick
nail dippers
sewing kits
cotton balls
sunscreen
disposable razors
toothbrushes, toothpaste
dry goods/food
ravioli, etc. pop-top cans
coffee creamer
condiment packages
tuna kits
bagies with zip lock
powdered milk
feminine hygiene products
dental floss
mouthwash
baby wipes
Q tips
waterless hand sanitizer
tissue
eye drops
saline nasal spray
deoterant
toilet paper
hand lotion
tylenol (In packets)
cusioned socks
cold water wash (woolite)
candy (Heat resistant)
cereal in small boxes
gum-no sicks
ramen noodles
hot chocolate
sweet tea mix
powdered drink mix
foot powder
soap, shampoo
instant oatmeal

This is the list I was given at work, I guess the idea is to pack as much stuff into a shoebox and send it to:

I think porn is considered contrabanned materiel.

Is there a source for this? I want to send some stuff, but I wanna make sure that Joe Shmoe isn\'t collecting it in his garage.

This is a great post for a sticky..so I shall.

I\'ve already sent my sister a few things. Still have a few things to pick up for 2 cousins and a friend over there.

If you guys have it to give, please do so. You have no idea how much it is appreciated by our service men and women!!!!

Ive sent my brother lots of stuff, althought not in Iraq, actually in Okanawa Japan for something secret. :( I wish I could know what it was.
