Damnit, now there is no reason for me to see it. You bastard.
PS: I would like to thank Theomen for not making me see that movie.
Gives Theomen a cookie and a banana smoothie.
-
I thought it was pretty good for a popcorn flick. It had a hot lead (his sister was banging) and kept you interested all the way, and as theoman said, the monster wins, which i thought was really cool.
you wanna see a cool horror flick - Final Destination 2
the death scenes are intense, love the bit when the glass falls on the little kid, sweet.
-
racer, you loved "glitter"
i dun think you should offer yer cinematic opinion
-
I didn\'t \'love\' Glitter you ass hole, i just didn\'t think it was THAT bad.

Final Destination 2 ... a Horror Flick

/me passes out through laughter
i have never laughed so much since the First ones
Final Destination films = Horror Film wan\'abe
-
I found the original Final Destination to be one of the most unwatchable load of old bollocks ever.
To use just one example, a guys head is whacked clean off his shoulders by a chain hanging from a train and his friends don\'t show any sort of real emotions.
The lead was an irritating little sod, the rest of the cast were just American Pie rejects who forgot to pick up their bags of talent when they left the previous films set and I smiled genuinely every time someone was killed as they asked for it.
It kind of made me not want to watch the sequel.
No film is ever scary, thrilling maybe but scary is a bit of an over-statement, even such classics as The Excorcist, Texas Chainsaw Masscre, any film containing Robert Englund or any film where the killer is too much of a pussy to show his face before people die.
I prefer to not be shown everything and to be left with the uncomfortableness (is that a word?) in the back of your mind instead, always better.
-
Dude, if your going to use an example from the movie to show how bad you think it was, at least get your example right. His head wasnt cut off by a chain, it was a peice of sheet metal that was touching the tracks. As far as emotions go, the "Badass" in the film pissed his pants after seeing that shit happend.
I liked the first one, and was told that the second was better.
-
Are you sure, I was sure it was dragging and bouncing along in one of those set up the death scene shots they do.
I liked the plane crash scene, it looked pretty realistic and also killed everyone in one fell swoop, I would have been happy turning it off then if I\'d known what a waste of time the rest would be.
Just awful.
-
Oh and that\'s a class quote in your sig!!!
-
Probably wont watch it. Im not a horror movie buff.
(post count up one w00t)
-
i rented ghost ship tonight.
im not expecting much but maybe it could be kinda spooky... well see.
-
I too rented Ghost Ship tonight, I\'m hoping that it won\'t utterly suck.
-
well, I just watched it, and it sure did.
-
Yes Ghost Ship is a horrible movie, very boring.
-
just finished the flick....[sp]they didn\'t get the gold, they didn\'t finsh off the bad guy, they can\'t legaly haul propane on a tug boat, they wouldn\'t have spotted the chick in the ocean, and did I mention they didn\'t get the gold?[/sp]

Give FD2 a chance, it\'s better than the first. The pileup scene is HORRIFIC and very realistic.... Better than the airplane one.

Thats what I am saying. In most movies, when something really grusome happens, they show it until it looks too fake, or when it would be too expensive to show you in more detail. In FD2 they just show it all, and it really incredibly real too (props to the effects artists, I was seriously impressed). The pileup scene was pretty horrifying, and I just loved how the plate of glass falls ontop of that little kid, squashing him down. The sound effects were sweet.
I thought it was well done.
-
I\'ll watch it if it appears on the telly while I\'m in a lazy mood and can\'t stand up.
It\'s the most I can promise!
-
The glass scene was probably my favorite scene as well. It was f\'n sick though. His mom was even in the background, just imagine if that happened in real life.

Was it meant to be a serious Horror film or was it an attempt to make me laugh ?
either way the Final Destination flimes are a steaming pile of Horse S$%^.
-
FD series is just an excuse to try out new effects and ways of destroying people.
They do an excellent job.
-
first 5 mins where good, like seeing a body being dumped down a hole, and would you go to see if there ok .. but then it got stupid

-
I don\'t give a crap if it\'s piss poor here and piss poor there. It entertained me. :)

I luaghed at fd2 when the first guy was in his house and there was a fire, im mean wut an idiot! first of all the magnet didnt have to fall in the chinese food, the carrying thing has a peice of metal on it anyway. Then he puts his hand in the grabage shredder wut a smart idea that was! He just one the lotto he can get a better ring if he was smart enough! Than when he falls im not just gonna lay there with my back on glass.....i mean dosent that hurt the slightest bit?
Then when the dude dies at the dentest office.......killed by a pigeon, i laughed so hard at that part.
-
cloud, the first dude who fell off the ladder had broke his back, thats why he couldn\'t move...
i loved the elevator scene with all the blood that flies everywhere.
-
*yawn*
What ever happened to classics? Rosemary\'s Baby? Halloween? Suspira? Night of the Living Dead? Dawn of the Dead? I spit on your Grave? The list goes on and on. None of these "new" horror films are worth watching.
With that said - I am watching Ghost Ship as of now and this is just borin\'.
-
LIC, none of those classic movies you mentioned are worth the time. The Excorcist is probably the only true \'classic\' horror flick that was actually scary.
I\'d rather watch \'Carrie\' or \'Children Of The Damned\'.
Ghost Ship = Ghost Sh!t

Why, cause I don\'t share your same cinematic views?
Thats the one thing that really pisses me off about the people here at these boards, no one can ever have their own opinion on anything.
Its in MY opinion that those movies weren\'t that good. If you liked them, good, lets agree to disagree.
-
The original Halloween is the finest \'horror\' movie ever made.

It\'s just that your opinion is always wrong. And you like little gay man movies.

I might like little gay man movies but your the one that likes ass play.
Who\'s more gay?

Spoiler ahead
there ware many flaws in FD2.
Racer, the dood didn\'t break he\'s back. He friggin smiles after he falls and is happy he didn\'t get hurt. I doubt you\'d be smiling if u broke your back.
Another problem was the whole, we changed history bs.
The kid that dies at the BBQ at the end shouldn\'t have died. Think about it. Death has a plan. Well, if he\'s plan worked to begin with. That news crew would have never been at the accident scene. So the druggy wouldn\'t have pulled the kid out of the way of the van, simply because the vans wouldn\'t have even been there to have an accident. The chick that has the child wouldn\'t have been at the jail cell.
If death\'s plan worked, the cop wouldn\'t have made a stolen van report. He couldn\'t cause he should be dead. So that elements every friggin person at the accident were farm boy gets pulled out of the way of the van. Hence, he was never part of deaths design. Now that\'s a f@#ken plot hole there people. The only reason why the people die in FD2, is because they were part deaths original plan. The people in FD1 that survived altered the plan death had for the people in part 2.
Oh and how the hell does that kid that gets flattened by the glass, able to have a nice shapely body when he\'s mom is over the body bag. He was squashed. He should have been in a barrel more then a body bag.
Also the air bag scene, argh. My brother is in the CFA. (Fire department) they disable air bags after an accident. Or, they cut away sharp objects around the person’s head. They were using the Jaws of Life. But they could have easily cut away the pipe from the back window and pulled it out and away from the chicks head or even told her to keep her head to the side of it. I mean, COME F@#KEN ON..
:)
argh...

Rosemary\'s Baby ... One of the the best suspense / horror films ever created. It does not need blood and cuts to tell it\'s story. It does not need special effects.
Halloween .. Another classic.
Suspira . One of the most beautiful movies ever and damn interesting at that. Part of a trilogy that was never finished.
Night of the Living Dead... Oh come on! It\'s a classic and the remake of it isn\'t half bad to boot.
What you guys call "horror" movies are nothing more than cheap attempts to use CG and other new special effects to show gore. There is no "horror" to the movie. No suspense.
-
The Shining was scary.
-
Indeed.
-
You could say it was a.... shining example of a horror film..
HAU HAU HAU *high fives everyone*
-
Wait..Wait!! Are we talking about the Kubrick masterpiece? Or are we talkin\' about the TV mini-series? *shudders*

And he\'s not the only one. ;)
About Suspiria... I finally got it on DVD the other day and I was looking forward to watching this classic. I was a bit disappointed though. First off - I HATE THE F*CKING LIGHTING! I know it the style and all, but read and blue, and whatnot, just annoys me when I look at it. Come on, who\'d wander around those colors all day (and night) long and not get frigging annoyed??
And it wasn\'t scary in the least. Even the (in)famous stabbing scene in the beginning wasn\'t as thrilling as I\'d heard. Bleh.
Feel free to let the bashing begin. Just know that I wanted to like this movie. I\'m just glad I got it rather cheaply.
-
It\'s mood lighting. Tho\' I agree Dario\'s work is not for everyone. Suspira and Inferno both being two of his films that are either "love or hate" situations.
-

That\'s what I think Racer is trying to say about these horror movies. It\'s really not fair to always bash something that is too "mainstream" or has strayed away from what you define as "classic." It\'s either you love it or hate it. :bounce:
-
I would define a classic horror movie as a movie that will rave about 20 years after it\'s release. So I would have to go with movies like Halloween, creature from the Black Lagoon, The Blob, Rosemary\'s Baby, well you get my drift. I may not dig these movies, heck most of them I do not, but how many of you have not watched them atleast once?
