I can understand having the option when the US had the draft, but we have a volunteer army now and you know the risks when you sign up.  Saying he didn\'t have the stomach for violence after the fact is a cop out.  This kid is just a slacker IMO.

I wouldn\'t be a good soldier either, but I\'m not stupid enough to sign up for it.

Shit if they just gave out free cash to learn how to shoot guns with no fear of going into battle then I\'m sure we\'d have twice the amount of troops that we have today.

There\'s a reason why I never joined the armed forces.  I would have made a terrible soldier, and I knew it.  :)

They should change it from "Conscientious Objector" status to "Shit for Brains" status.  :D

I am very proud of that location.

That location had the lowest unemployment rate in years,  with the economy skyrocketing and the budget deficiet getting lower.  

To describe the Bush era would be the opposite of what is typed above.

You obviously don\'t understand economics.  Clinton benefited from the Reagan/Bush Era.  Also, the economy took a nose dive 6 months before the election.  If Gore would have won we would be in the exact same place today that we are now.  Anyway, I am not debating this here.  Your grenade comment was very offensive, maybe that was your whole idea.  Come here and be offensive... go figure...

I was merely saying forcing people to stay in the military is worst then letting them go if they dont want to fight.  That guy who grenaded his own soldiers was an example.  

I was using sarcasm,  in saying,  well,  you want to keep people in the military who dont want to be there...they will do more harm then good.

BTW,  sorry about the ignorant comment,  I didnt really mean it and I said it out of my own stupidity.

We don\'t know why the guy in threw the grenade in the tent exactly.  We will have to wait to find out.  I was merely pointing out that people shouldn\'t join the military if they think they will never have to fight.  That is why we have a volunteer military.  No one forced that fool to join - in his words:

Yeah that should be a valid excuse...
