Not sure anyone has seen this story but I think it shows the type of people we have over there fighting for us.
I got this from a post on another board but I\'ve seen the story on numerous sites.
Martin Savidge of CNN, embedded with the 1st Marine battalion, was talking with 4 young Marines near his foxhole live on CNN. He had been telling the story of how well the Marines had been looking out for and taking care of him since the war started. He went on to tell about the many hardships the Marines had endured since the war began and how they all look after one another.
He turned to the four and said he had cleared it with their
commanders and they could use his video phone to call home.
The 19 year old Marine next to him asked Martin if he would
allow his platoon sergeant to use his call to call his pregnant wife back home whom he had not been able to talk to in three months.
A stunned Savidge who was visibly moved by the request nodded his head and the young Marine ran off to get the sergeant.
Savidge recovered after a few seconds and turned back to the
three young Marines still sitting with him and asked which one of them would like to call home first.
The Marine closest to him responded with out a moments
hesitation "Sir, if is all the same to you we would like to call the parents of a buddy of ours, Lance Cpl Brian Buesing of Cedar Key,
Florida who was killed on 3-23-03 near Nasiriya to see how they are doing."
At that Martin Savidge totally broke down and was unable to
speak. All he could get out before signing off was "Where do they get young men like this?"

I\'m surprised Unicron didn\'t reply with:
"And after they got off the phone they ran off and killed 4 Iraqi babies."
-
being on the side of the US is like rooting for the best sports team in the world.
F*ck the naysayers!

:rolleyes:As I said before your Soldiers are sent there thinking they are sent for the elimination of an enemy threatening the world and liberate Iraq.I never mentioned they are BRUTAL, RUTHLESS, EVIL AMERICANS THAT MUST DIE!!
BTW:2000 Afganistan POWs have been executed in Afganistan and there are 500 coffins containing american soldiers\' bodies who died in confrontation in Afgabistan which your government doesnt want to be sent back in America.Just in case you didnt know in what kind of country you are living in.Ofcourse I dont expect u to beleive that.
-
I\'ll believe it when I see a link to a believable website.

Come again? When did this happen? I\'ve read nothing about this, and I follow the news pretty closely.

Internet? If it was in the internet dont expect it to be now. This kind of information is information your country doesnt want u to see.
I didnt see it in the internet.A well known person of mine though has it on tape.

It was shown in a channel after midnight a couple of days ago. This information hasnt been aired until recently.
And I expect an "attack" from the US for airing it.

I live in a neutral country.. If there were any news like that (2000 Afghans and 500 American soldiers dont vanish that easily without anyone noticing) believe me it would be known here.
This is the first time I\'ve heard/read about it. You dont have any other sources beside your friend?
How did he get the "tape"?

See above last post.

That day didnt happen to be April 1st did it? ;)
If it was aired on TV.. I bet other channels would know about it aswell.
Btw, if they risk being attacked, would it not be better for them to show it on the best possible time when most people are watching and spread it around so everyone would know the "truth"?
Sounds like one of those conspiracy theories IMO.

So there are 500 americans dead in Afghanistan and not a single family member has said anything? I have to know what drugs you are on unicron.
-
Unicron, if there was any truth to what you said (which isn\'t even closely true, I don\'t even think 500 guys in Afghanistan died), there would be a big thing here in the US. Maybe you should do your research instead of believing everything you see on a TV station biased against the US.
-
Dont you think its odd that the U.S. has reported no casualty figures in the war in Afghanistan? And that there is little to no talk about it? I\'m sure that much battling on the ground as produced some U.S. casualties. I doubt they have had a "perfect" war.

Clowd seriously, that was a year ago do you expect us all to recall the number of American casualities that we heard on TV? Hell I forgot what I wore 2 days ago. I don\'t even know if you could call it a war, they use camals as taxis.

Clowd, seriously, read my posts. I never said that was a perfect war. I was just saying that last time I heard the casualtie numbers, it wasn\'t that high but it was a while ago so I bet its up there now. Are they still fighting in Afghanistan? I haven\'t heard shit about that since the Iraq conflict.

They launched a 1,000 man raid about on Al Quada/Terrorist possesions about 2 days after the war started. What happened? I dont know.
you dont hear about it because things could be going very wrong...

Why should it be biased against the US?And it wasnt the reporters of that channel that confessed it.They didnt even comment on it.
