this is one of the times in which i wish the person suffered before they died.
linkage http://www.msnbc.com/news/896639_asp.htm?vts=040720030310
all in all this is "good" news.
-
I might be told to shut up, but wouldn\'t it of been a heck of a lot better if we captured him ALIVE ?
i mean he could help the "hunt" for WoMD greatly.
-
I doubt he would have been willing to help. Its obvious they were not threatend by our threats of attack and our attack..so I really dont think he would have talked.
These ppl like him that are close to saddam dont get close to him without being deathly loyal.
-
There will be plenty of people captured that will aid in the search for WMD. Like the senior officer that Tony Blair is trying to help exile now.
I have a feeling Unicron and Clowd will probably not have a lot to say in this thread. Unless of course we killed a puppy or possibly a cat when we blew up Ali\'s house.

Afterall, we are the source of evil in the world

To who has more innocent civilian blood on their hands
Truman > Ali
-
I hope he is dead, if not we should take him prisoner (if we ever find him) and stick him in a little room and fill it with some type of chemical (preferably one that makes you suffer).
-
Ali baba is dead....whoopie!
I\'ll be happy when Saddam is dead.

You\'re right Clowd we, the US, is just as bad if not worse than the Butcher of Baghdad and his henchmen.

I think when you all get into the habit of attacking the poster, instead of attacking his ideas, you make yourselves look bad. Maybe as a mod, you should set an example for the others, Vid.
-
Who\'s Ali? I know I sound like a moron but I haven\'t watched the news in a few days.
-
He has killed probably close to 500,000 Iraqis via numerous awful methods.
He has gassed them.
He dropped kerosene on a group of people from the air and lit them on fire with flares.
He advertised a rally. People came and he had them all shot cold blood. (Sometimes I think this may not be a bad thing to do) (J/K)
He is Saddam\'s key henchman.
-
Did he murder all those people during a war or just as a daily excercise?
If the latter, then that is a big, big difference between him and Truman, Clowd...

well considering how the bomb was totally unnecessary, and that Americans felt all their time and money would go to "waste" if it wasnt used. And how they wanted to put fear in the Russians.
Looks like a daily exercise to me
-
I was talking about Chemical Ali...
-
he killed those people during the wars and after the wars, he was responsible for most of the killings in Kuwait, and for putting down the uprising after the 1\'st gulf war, these are only a fraction of the things he\'s done.

who gave him the weapons to do the killing?
who never condemned the attacks?
Who only stepped in when their own interests where at stake?

OK, let me get this straight..
Chemical Ali ordered 100\'s of thousands of his own citizens killed to prove a point.
He left the bodies in the streets to rot to further his point.
AND YOU ARE BLAMING THE US FOR NOT CONDEMNING HIM?
Are you friggen insane?
An attack like this needs to be condemned by the US? Huh?
-
Vid, it is very simple.
It is not like the US didnt know what type of ppl they were dealing with when selling them these things. That is exactly why they were playing both sides against the middle from 80-88.
They didnt sell these weapons to them thinking they were decent folk. They knew what would happen. When it happend at a time they didnt necessarily like, thats when they decided to take action.
Point is, they still knew all along.
-
Oh, I know. And I think the US is wishing they never got involved in the first place. I know I am.
-
I dont think that. I think now they are trying to cover their asses, but not necessarily regretful. I say that b/c of what I said earlier, they knew all along way back when, that it wasnt a good idea.
So why not help the enemy of the enemy. Then at the same time, still helping the enemy.
I personally think that the US was hoping each country would desimate each other and each country would be so weak after the war finally ended that nothing could come up.
So they were correct with Iran, but they underestimated Saddam and Iraq.
So like I said, I dont personally think they wish they never got involved, but more-so that they thought they could have their cake and eat it too.
One thing that still remains a question to me though. Why was all of this chemical warfare fine and dandy untill 91?
Then fine for another 12 years.
