Title: Suicide Bombers (Irony)
Post by: GigaShadow on April 07, 2003, 05:19:21 AM
Well this is a bit off topic and someone might find it a bit offensive, but after playing C & C Generals and killing the GLA suicide bombers for a while this weekend, I was watching Fox News and they reported that the suicide bombers wear the same bandanas and clothing so it makes them easy to spot.  I just thought it was sort of ironic that the GLA suicide bombers are easy to spot because they wear the same clothing as well and its usually the gattling tanks that mow them down when they come running at you.

Granted, one is a video game and the other is a real war and I am not trying to dull the relevance of the real life events going on in Iraq, but the parallels are eerie.  I was wondering if Westwood studios knew something we didn\'t when they made this game.  There are a lot of similiarities between Operation Iraqi Freedom and this game... from the suicide bombers to the pickups with machine guns mounted on the back attacking you, it is like deja vu between the game and the news coverage.

I was thinking about trying that game.  Is it worthwhile?  I love C&C and Red Alert.  I was wondering if they overdid it by finally making the game true 3D.

Its ok, I am not a big C&C fan - its about on par with games like WC III and AOM though the graphics are quite as good.  Sorry to get OT...
