Title: what\'s your money situation
Post by: bigrob on April 09, 2003, 11:05:29 PM
I know this might be a topic some people is uncomfortable with ...but what the hell.

I live in finland currently. 25 years old. Work as a Software Develpment Project Manager. I have free phone where ever in the world
MONTHLY:
income ~2800€
after tax ~ 1900€
rent =500€

so basically this leaves me with 1400€ a month that is for food and play.

Whats your situation?

Wifey and I bring in about 90k.  God willing that will change soon.  No credit card debt so kid, house, utilities, 500k worth of life insurance, health insurance, 1 car payment, food, fun, etc. cost us about 4600 a month.  So take away taxes and I have I dunno, a grand or so a month to invest, etc.  Damn I need a new job.

Work as a Industrial CAD engineer

Make about $420 a week

Just got married and don\'t have much money for playing around with as I used to (wife is a full time student).  I keep putting as much as I can in the bank.  I only have an Associates degree, and after getting my bachleors I should make much more.  Have some money deffered to 410k and recieve some profit sharing deposited into mutual funds or something.

Living out of home, trying to find a new house (rental) to live.

Currently doing my first year of a Chef\'s apprenticeship, so 40hours/week (usually more) at $5.30AUD/hour (about $2.70USD)

So I\'m on about $120USD/week

After bills and food, I have about $50/month to invest.

Good luck, Bob. I wanted to be a chef. But I heard the competition is FIERCE! Plus, the fear of the restaurant you could get into may not stay in business that long so that\'s another thing to stress over. So I got into computers. :)

I wimped out. I\'m a damn good house/backyard chef on the weekends though! :p

A buddy of mine wants to be a chef.  God I hate cooking.  I wish I loved to cook because I love to eat.  I guess I wish my wife was a chef.  That would be the best.

If I work just regular hours - no overtime..I work three days a week, bring home around 600 (after taxes) every two weeks. So, durin\' any month I can bring home 1,200 easy. I live at home - so my only bill is my car payment, which is almost $500 dollars.

I usually try to work at least three days of overtime in a month. That gives me plenty of extra spending money and I still end up with a lot of days off.. More so than most people who have 9 to 5 jobs.

30 years old, work in the precious metals industry..

about $45k a year, minus $325 truck payment, $645/ mo rent, - about 150 mo bills.. leaves..jack squat...

every so often I get year end bonuses... anywhere from $3300 (this year... :( ) to $12,750 (last 2 years..)

Wifey/GF just got a better job w/ another division of the company I work for, so money won\'t be tight anymore. She spent about 10 months out of the last 2 years not working, so no savings for me.

I live an extravagant lifestyle.
