Well, you may have seen my thread about my new upgrades, well... they send me a faulty mobo, so I try and get a new mobo and they say about 2 ****ing weeks, so I have just had to re build my old comp but I had already sold 128mb so now I\'m back where I started but slower. So now I have loads of useless PC parts till I get a new bastard mobo. God I\'m pissed.
-
though luck man.
u ordered the parts online, right. well if u did, this just comes with the territory.
well atleast hopefully when u get yer mobo the wait is gonna be worth it.
-
RMA sucks. :( I hate computers too, they\'re still pretty new if you think about it. In about 100 years I\'ll bet people will be saying how inefficient, slow, and unstable they are. We were born in the wrong century!! ;)
One thing to think about is to buy the part at a local computer shop, use it and when you\'re RMA comes back in return that to the place and get your money back.
-
What pissed me off was that I got an ASUS board, it\'s not like a baught a cheap ass board, but **** it, I\'m paying the difference and getting a more expensive MSI board.
-
I\'m sure it will be worth the wait.
-
Hmmm, I don\'t know if that\'s such a good idea. I\'ve never had ANY problems with Asus boards, and I\'ve owned many of them. MSI, on the other hand always seemed like dogshit by comparison. Not sure why they would be more expensive than an Asus board. I think you should stick with Asus.
-
should have gone to a local retailer.
-
Ebuyer are pretty cheap though.
-
Word of advice! When it comes to Motherboards, Monitors and CPU\'s I buy from a local dealer, everything else i\'m game for.
-
I\'ve always said it.. DON\'T BUY ONLINE These people use shit like Bubble wrap to protect there products. I LOVE static, don\'t you guys.
Only buy from local retails, the small places are normaly the cheapest. Big stores = rip off. MSI are a very good brand. I only buy, Gigabyte, MSI, Asus and Abit. Although the Asus board i brought awhile ago had heaps of problems and that put me totally of them. MSI are a good brand, it\'s worth the buy. Just hope u choice a good board.
-
the small places are normaly the cheapest. Big stores = rip off.
things must be ass backwards in oz
bigger stores, more sales, lower prices
the mom and pop local stores are ALWAYS more expensive, they have to be.
buying online IS the way to go
i can get a name brand mobo, p4 2.4g CPU and 512m ddr ram for under 260$ online (with a 30 day "no questions asked" replacement guarantee and manafactuer warranty. find me a local "refurbished" shop that can do this.
oh yes, i said refurbished. you didnt honestly think local computer shops only sell brand new equipment?
9 of of 10 times, if you install a component and it doesnt work, YOU messed it up. did you ground yourself before unwrapping that motherboard? are you wearing your static cord bracelet when you put that ram chip in?
-
If u know where to go, yes. I know all the good stores in aus. Mainly because of wholesalers. Computer Tex is a great little store near my suburb. They order everything from wholesalers new, nothing is stocked at this store expect for peripheral devices. If i can\'t find something from a wholesaler i\'ll go through these guys. Even though it\'s only 2 people. :) Also Jaycar electronics is good for the good ol case modding stuff. :)
Big stores are rip offs. Here anyway, go to places like dick smith electronics, Harvey Norman, Tandy etc. You\'ll be paying 5 grand for a pc i could build with better brand parts and be half the cost.
Only 1 big name store I’ve seen in Australia that\'s cheap. That\'s Computer world.
You don’t need a static cord bracelet. You just need to earth yourself before doing anything. I\'ve never killed a mobo, cpu, mem or any computer component. You could be safe and use one though. I do at work.
Show me this "online store" that u can get the stuff from for under 260. I\'m talking quality mm, not cheap brands.
Please don\'t give me this 9 outta 10 crap until you WORK in a computer store. I\'ve seen way to many manufacture faults to know better.. It\'s more like 6 outta 10 ;) The classic one i\'ve seen is the no thermal gel routine, or the "what\'s the metal block for" ahh.
-
I order stuff online all the time. There are places to avoid. But there are very good places too. Heat where did you order from?
-
soully, yer a damn bench tech
talk to me when you get some certs or a degree under yer belt
-
whateva mm. whateva.
got a certificate III in software/hardware technology.. whooooo.
Was part of my Vet course at high school. Really lame boring crap it was.
I guess experience means nothing against a degree. Pity, since most people ask for experience as well as degrees. So i guess that means u can\'t say s@#t either mm. That\'s why i\'m starting my 4 year digital/analong electronics diploma/degree course sets next year. :D
So i\'ll talk to you after that hey mm and whatever i say must be true because i\'ll have a degree.
ps. WTF does having a degree or diaploma have to do with where to buy computer components?
-
Ladies, ladies, really, you know what they say about fighting on the internet.
-
brick walls always win?
-
"It doesn\'t matter if you win or lose, you\'re still a retard" or something along them lines.
-
i thought it would be more like
"shit splatters and so do you"
-
soully, i see you as a child
nothing more
6 months as a bench tech means nothing
try putting it on yer resume
-
I see you as an arrogant knob
nothing more.
6 months..
try 2 years, and that\'s 2 years more then you.
Try putting that on your resume.
mm, Degrees, diplomas certificates mean s@#t all, when u have no experience. My brother has a degree in Software/hardware computer science and he finished he\'s mcse. Had to do 8 bs tests, and he got some groovy badges. You know what, he couldn\'t get any work. Guess why, no experience in the work place. So he started he\'s own business. Sad fact of life, but true none the less.
mm, i\'m 21. I\'ll be about 26 when i finish my electronics course, but i\'ll have the skills and experience to back me up.. :)
-

Yeah well I\'m ++A++B certified. Now who owns?....*runs*
-
WHERE UR SUTFF COME FROM!!1????///
-
my stubbornness doesn\'t amount to anywhere near your arrogance.
He has applied for unpaid supervised training, but being in Australia has its problems. They want only the best of the best. That = work experience for at least 5 years. Kinda ****ed up when you\'re applying to get the experience.
Network admin, lol I got friends with no degrees or certificates that are network admins.
Cisco. My brother is also studying it. :)
still, with all your degrees/certificates. I can\'t understand how such an educated man could think abbos come from America. I guess your eductation is limited to computers.
I\'ve been using computers as far back as i can remember, 386 computers i think were the first machines i used. I was about 6 or 7. ;)
-
JERRY, JERRY, JERRY, OH DON\'T GO THERE GIRLFRIEND!!
CAN I RUB STEVES HEAD????

nar, people know people that know people...
In aus, it\'s not really what u know (it does help) but who u know. :)
now lets forget our troubles with a nice big bowl of strawberry icecream. ;)
-
i prefer chocolate
-
I give up.
-
same... although i don\'t eat icecream much. If you ever have icecream that is getting icey. Add some Stabilizers to it and boil the bytch. Then refreeze.. See, you learn something new everyday. :)
-
Sucks for you heat, this one of the few instances where Brick and Mortar stores have an advantage over online ones.
-
That pissing contest you two had was really entertaining.
