Title: 2002 Celica bumpers and fence\'s don\'t mix!
Post by: Living-In-Clip on April 20, 2003, 12:27:13 AM

It was about 1:00 am and I was backing out of a friends driveway, when my put slipped off the brake, fell onto the gas. Next thing I know my 2002 Celica backs into a fence. I start cussing...put it into drive and pull up. The left side of my bumper has a dent about the size of my fist . Odd thing is, it didn\'t really scratch it up (a few small ones) and it done NO damage to the fence. Now keep in mind, this was an old broken down fence.

GRRR!

Now I am forced to either ..

(1) Live with it.

(2) Take it. Get it estimated and see if the dent can be popped out and maybe re-paint it.

(3) Work a day or two overtime and buy a new bumper. I had been thinking about the Kaminari kit for awhile now. It is goin\' to cost me around $500 bucks for it tho\'.

So - what is everyone\'s general idea? Which one would you do?

It\'s just a damn shame. I had hoped my first wreck would total the car and get me out from underneath the $483 montly car payment.

I\'ve always talked with my friend about having a safe "accident" with him in order for me to get a paint job or something. ;)

I would say go for option 3... Then get some rims/coilvers. :D

i say # 3 too, repainted/reapaired car parts are always an eyesore to me.
but if u wanna save some cash just have it repaired.

That sucks so bad :(

New bumpers always look better than repaired ones.

There is other body-kits, but that is the main one I want for the bumper. If I done the bumper , I know I\'d end up doin\' the rest of the car...Yikes @ the money!

Working overtime for 2 days cant be that bad. And for a new kit like that- bleh, worth it.

LIC...thats kinda slick..

w0w..Im a poet and didnt even know it... ;)

Seriously though..I cant see a complete profile of the rear, but from that 1/4 pic, it looks to be a nice bumper. The side skirts look nice too. Welp, at least you picked a quality company.

Their kits for one of my cars(neon) is $1500 plus shipping :(

Usually mechanics will say you have to replace your bumper, no if ands or but\'s about it.  And even if you have one that\'ll try to knock it out for you, you\'ll have problems from there with creases and the such.  Just treat yourself to a new bumper, and probably save money....you\'ll also help the economy.

do the kit man.  I love that kit.  Seen it around O-town. looks sweet.  But yeah, you need some rims after that ;)
