Hey guys.  I have a project  for school where I have to make a music video.  I was looking online, and I seen adobe premiere.  Does anyone know if its a lot like final cut pro?  I need to get it before the end of the week so I can get this project done in time.  Any info would be great.  Thanks

Uhh....  I think it might be on that "Special Disk" we have at the house.

You could download any trial version to check the features, interface and so. If you like it... mmm... buy it. It\'s a good program.

oh.. cool.  I didn\'t know we had that one at the house too. sweet :)

I hear Final Cut Pro is leaps and bounds over Premiere but it\'\'s what us Windows users are stuck with.  The program isn\'t overly horrible but I would decribe it as basic and flaky.  If you want to do anything with special FX you need a seperate program (such as After Effects).

I have after effects.  Basically, all I really need to do is lay a mucis track down, and make a music video using still images.  all my "special effects" are nothing more then edited photos. If it can work good for that.  I\'m a happy guy.

I find it buggy and it crashes quite a bit. Save often and it should be fine.

You can work with audio in After Effects.  You place it in the composition as a layer.  I\'ll show you how later.

You can also add effects to the sound layers in After Effects.  :)

yeah, i was just talking to a guy in the labs here in school, and he says using premiere and after effects together makes a good cobination.  Im thinking I might give that a try.  Thanks for the tip ACE.  there\'s nothing worse then getting half way through a project and remembering to save 2 seconds to late.
