Next week USA plants to put forward a resolutions proposal in the United Nations Security Council which will cancel all sanctions against Iraq and give the United States full power over the country and its oil.
The United Nations will play a secondary role, but secretary-general Kofi Annan is encouraged to at least appoint a representative which will work with the US in Baghdad.
- This will cause new fights in the security council, says a UN-diplomat to TT.

The oil money will be used to build up Iraq - assignment which have mostly gone to American companies.
I hope its only temporary.. The Iraqis seem more and more unhappy (massive demonstrations) with the occupation each day.

I can vouch for the construction contracts going US companies as I have read about that numerous times. Was reading today that all russian companies may get the contracts instead.
I have also read about the US rebuilding Iraq with oil money which I feel is BS as well. I don\'t like the idea of some of my tax money going to rebuild, but if we destroyed, we should rebuild at our cost.
