Anyone looking forward to this? I\'ve heard it\'s pretty good (understatement ;)).
But I found something quite odd... the release date in the States is May 2? But here in Denmark the release is today??
Anyway, even though I\'m not big on comic book stuff, I\'m not gonna miss this one.
-
Should be a good one.
-
I bought my tickets last Friday. I\'ll be there for opening night. I\'m stoked.
-
got my opening night tickets too and I can\'t wait!
I loved Blade,Blade II,X-Men and Spider-man so this should rock!
I\'ve heard nothing but good reviews about it!
Hugh Jackman rocks and Rebecca Romin Stamos is back naked and blue so it\'s not all bad! lol
but me and the guys and girls can\'t wait to see it!
-
i might go to see it, but not for another week or two. got too many exams coming up.
-
I have tickets to go Friday afternoon for myself and about five other people. Should be a whole lot of fun. :)
-
I hope it\'s long enough, the first one was great, but didn\'t feel like it was long enough to me.
-
^
Felt the same way.
Probably wait until some good reviews from people I know are heard.

*EDIT - the movie synopsis revels far too much of the plot. I\'d rather go in not knowing much of anything. :)
-
I cannot wait. Big fan of the comics, and its got Rogue in it this time.
Its out today here in Australia, probably go tomorrow, have free tix. Now all I gotta do is wait for May 16th (THE MATRIX)!!!
-
Meh, no Gambit, but I was a huge X-men fan when I was a kid. Well more of a kid than am I now.

Rogue was the main character in the last one..
Still, no Gambit. :(
-
Rogue wasn\'t in the first one was she? I fell asleep on the plane when it was on, and haven\'t seen it since.
Damn... shes hot.
-
Got my tickets for the 12:20 showing on Friday Night. (well, I guess it\'s technically Saturday Morning) I can\'t wait. My favorite X-Man is in this one too (Nightcrawler).
-
for all you gambit fans his name is on a computer that magneto...or was it stryker was looking at that had a roster of names.......I saw it on a preview...so maybe it is a precursor to X3
:hat:ScottyJ:hat:
-
GO NIGHTCRAWLER!!!! The trailer kicks so much ass. Seeing it this weekend hopefully.
-
Saw it today (just got back)
Nightcrawler absolutely kicks ass.
The chick who plays Yuriko (don\'t know if they ever mention her name) is fuggin\' hot. Edit: OOH! It\'s Kelly Hu! I thought she looked familiar.
Some good laughs (none up to the level of "What do they call you... wheels?" in the first one, though).
Some great action.
The third ones gonna be intense.
And yes, the name "Remy" does appear on a computer screen during the movie, but it\'s only for a fraction of a second, and it\'s a list of security guards at Magneto\'s prison, so I wouldn\'t look too far into it.
-
Saw it today too.. SPOILERS AHEAD
Phoenix will be in part3, that\'s what a little someone turns into at the end for the knobs that don\'t watch or know the series ;)
Wolverine kicks heaps of ass in this. Can\'t believe the amount of stabbings that go on.
Iceman (bobby) uses he\'s powers more. Although he is to young,
like rouge.
Pyro has a mental attack and does a nice little flaming job on some cops, after something happens to wolverine, i\'ll let you see that for youselfs. ;)
Gambit is NOT in this movie, hopefully part 3.
Colossus is in it here and there. Best of him is at the start. Yuriko is meant to be wolverines x-gf in the series... As far as i remember.. Not in this flick..
Anyway, it\'s alot better then the first. Go see it. :)
-
Cool..... Colossus.... :D
-
Kittie pride is in it also, I saw her in one of the ads for X2. Kelly HU is HOT! I guess the Lady Deathstryke VS Wolverine battle is INTENSE! I saw a behind the scenes of X2 on TV this week, Kelly HU hosted it....might have been on HBO or Starz.....
:hat:ScottyJ:hat:
-
yea it is, Wolverine gets a few in, she gets 5 x 5 more ;) Maybe she had alot on her mind, she seems to be weighed down towards the end ;)
ohh i\'m so funny.......
-
SPOILERS!!!!
I thought it was stupid that Kelly Hu\'s character absolutely destroyed Wolverine in battle (and lets face it, she did), and that he in the end had to struggle to use the environment to win... I just think it should have been a nice clean fight, no outside interferance (except perhaps on her behalf).. it made him look weak
END SPOILERS
-
maybe they had WWE writters on staff ;)
-
YOU WEREN\'T SUPPOSED TO READ THE SPOILERS!!
And yeah, that\'s the analogy I was thinking of making. :)
-
rips are da ghey!
-
You pay for broadband Internet access but are unwilling to pay a couple of bucks to see a movie? It\'s not like it\'s going to straing your budget to no end or anything. On top of that, you\'re a gamer? This is probably the most ass backwards thing I\'ve ever heard.
-
Nothing beats the theater experience.... Only thing I hate are those obnoxious snot nosed punks.
-
Agreed. How can someone watch a brand new special effects extravaganza in mediocre to decent quality (probably just a theatre recording) on a tiny 17" screen with mono sound and actually think they can make any claims on just how good the film is? I\'m sorry, but that\'s why movies are reviewed in theatres to begin with -- there\'s a whole experience that goes with it as Ser pointed out and although you choose to rob yourself of that, Heat, don\'t use some lame excuse like "I save $5" to justify it. If you\'re frugal, you obviously wouldn\'t indulge in quite a few of the other luxuries you maintain. It just doesn\'t make any sense to me at all.
I could see the lucrative prospects when downloading movies after you\'ve seen it once in theatres and are waiting for the DVD release, but if you haven\'t seen it in theatres, it\'s just an injustice to the film in my opinion. Then again, I\'m studying to become involved in the industry so maybe I\'m just taking this a bit too seriously to begin with.
-
i only say rips are da ghey because well, they are. They\'re shitty quality, shitty sound and people rate movies on them. Sorry to say it. How can someone rate a movie in a media format or even quality that it wasn\'t intended to be released on. I live in one of the biggest piracy countrys in the world. I even don\'t bother with movie rips. I\'ve ripped all my brothers DVDs though.. Keeping the quality at the same level. Just so i don\'t have to bother about asking him whenever i want to borrow a cd.. Theater rips are not worth the download. They are da ghey!!
Go see it at the theaters.. It\'s a lot better then the first.
-
You’re watching theater rips on a Sony wegascreen tv. lol.
That\'s pretty funny because speaking from experience. The bigger the tv, the crapper the quality, blocky heaven and some hardcore blurriness. You must have to sit pretty far back so all the nice blocks mix up nicely.. Otherwise it\'ll look like a total mess.
-
I usually make use of rips, when I\'m undecided on a movie pick. If I think it MIGHT be good, but not sure of it, I watch a rip and if it\'s good, I\'ll go to the theater. They\'re quite usefull for screening out the absolute crap (read Glitter)
-
I just saw it
mystique = yummmmmmmmmmy
wolverine kicked ass and I think The Phoenix is HOT!!!
-
KEWL NMAN!!!!!!! GHONNA GO C IT TIHS WEKEND!!! :D:D
-
Just got back...
An absolutely amazing movie, enjoyed every minute of it. In case anyone is wondering, it\'s leaps and bounds better than the first movie.
Storm was actually put to good use this time, as was Jean. Cyclops didn\'t do nearly as much this go round but I have a feeling he\'ll play a big role in the next movie.
Wolverine was kick ass, but Night Crawler was and is still my favorite character of the series.
I do have some questions though that I may have misunderstood from the series or just missed in the movie. May contain spoilers...
1) Isn\'t Night Crawler Mystique\'s son? When and where do they make the connection?
2) What happened to Stryker\'s son? I assume he got crushed but I\'m not sure. I saw the place falling apart and blinked, did I miss something?
Spoilers Ahead
It\'s so damn exciting to think of what will be for the next movie. Most obviously will be the all important role of Jean as the Phoenix. I expect there will be even more familar faces such as Jubilee (made an appearance at the end), Gambit, and maybe Beast.
Who remembers what the Phoenix story was all about? I don\'t remember what the purpose was but I do remember it being quite destructive and powerful.
-
Saw it tonight. It was better than the first (which I hated), but I still had problems with it.
(1) It seemed alittle long and near the end I was hoping for it to end.
(2) The Jean Grey story-arc is obvious. I never liked the Phoniex saga and I don\'t want it to make it into the movies.
There was some other minor plot elements I hated, but other than that it wasn\'t to bad. Nightcrawler transferred to the silver screen a lot better than I had imagined he would.
Oh and Heat, I deleted your posts. Keep the piracy talk out ! End of story.
-
Isn\'t Night Crawler Mystique\'s son? When and where do they make the connection?
There are lots of connections that the movies don\'t seem to be making (such as Yuriko being Wolverines girlfriend...I think, it\'s been a while)
(2) The Jean Grey story-arc is obvious. I never liked the Phoniex saga and I don\'t want it to make it into the movies.
Yah, I hated that, too. :( The whole thing was just plain stupid, IMO. Hopefully, the movies don\'t put as much emphasis on it....
-
In the movie, do they explain more of Wolverine\'s history, and do they get it right? (He was born in Canada in the 19th century, bone claws etc...)
-
There were a few parts of the movie that didn\'t really follow the comic book series but there is just so much action and good stuff going on, that I\'m sure even the hardcore Xmen fans will still enjoy this movie.
Do yourself a favor and go watch it. I plan on watching it again, probably with Ryu again so I can bug him during the movie and say stuff like DUUUUDE KELLY HU IS HOT!!! SHE CAN PIN ME DOWN ANYTIME...and other mature comments like that.
When you guys do go watch it, I just hope the audience you are watching it with don\'t suck. THe crowd I was with was awesome. ALot of clapping and cheers during the funny and kick ass parts of the movie. It really makes the movie experience more enjoyable with a fun crowd.
Long story short...X men two rocked...nuff said. :)

His side of the story is about his past, but you don\'t really uncover it. It\'s all a mystery..... a hazy mystery.
-
Saw the movie last night, and personally, I loved it. (some minor spoilers may be in the rest of this) The early nightcrawler and wolverine fight scenes were so nice. I also loved the way that they had a large part of the story focus on Wolverine figuring out about his past. Personally, I also liked the way they did the movie from the standpoint of someone who was an X-Men fan going in. The movie seemed designed so that you\'d understand the plot and enjoy the movie a lot if you didn\'t know anything about the comics going in, but if you did know about the comics, there seemed to be a lot of orther little things you could pick up on.
Personally, however, I also hope that they don\'t center the third movie around the whole Phoenix thing. I liked the connection they made at the end of the movie, but I think that with only three movies there are much better things they could focus the third movie on.
-
Hell yeah im goin. Rouge is hot, and nightcrawler is my favorite. Boo to no Gambit though. I thought i was the only one
-
well, i saw it last night
MUCH better than the 1st one
[sp] i LOVED how they made wolverine MUCH more violent in this one. the scene where he impales the 1st spec ops on the fridge and screams in his face was haunting[/sp]

[sp]That was great. It actually gave me a shock, because I\'ve watched the Cartoon series for a long time, and he NEVER stabbed a human.
That just made him totally badass. :wedge:[/sp]
-
MUCH better than the first one. Wolverine is still the badassest person ever. Nightcrawler is sweet with his quickness, etc. As a non-X-Men fan, I still say it\'s a GREAT movie.
-
yea, it\'s good when a AUSSIE plays one of the most important roles. :)
-
So are they making another one?
-
that AUSSIE still live in oz or did he flee like all the others?
-
errr, most of these actors live in aus or move between usa and australia, Sydney is where it\'s at these days. Even so, where they cash in doesn\'t matter, it\'s where they learn to ACT and come from that does....
-
Saying that it is much better than the 1st one isn\'t saying a lot, as the first X-men movie was complete crap.
I thought it was good - but the movie needed cut down. It seemed long for the sake of being long, as if it was trying to be epic, but lacked the story to make it epic.
I\'d say it is Marvel\'s best attempt at the comic - to movie craze as of late. The first X-men was dull and boring, Spider-Man was overly cheesey and poorly done and DareDevil was just a huge mess.
It was a marked improvement over the first, but that isn\'t saying a lot. Still, if the series continues to progress, it may very well have a bright future.
-
Hmmm...
Unlike the people posting here, I\'m going to have to say I was a bit dissapointed with X-2.
Now dont get me wrong, it was still a visually stunning movie (Nightcrawler, Cerebro, Magneto) with some great scences (attack on the school, attack on the president, mystique catches me off gaurd every damn time). But, I was let down from all of the hype I have been hearing over the past year or so.
The filmakers promised me an all out war between mutants and humans-- I only saw the cops and two fighter jets. And who was representitive of the evil side? Magneto, Mystique, and Deathstrike? You call that a mutant army?
The filmakers promised me a brand spanking new mutant--If that new mutant was Stykers son than someone in the movie-making department over there needs to be fired due to lack of creativity.
They promised me Gambit--his name in a TV listing? Come on!
Most importantly, they promised me THE SENTINALS--3/4 of the way through the movie I was just sitting there wondering how they were going to work them in...and they didnt. It was one of the major reasons I went and saw X-2.
All in all I felt that X-2 was just a lengthened version of the first movie, not the hyped and promised sequal the producers made it out to be.
-
Buying into rumors and speculation only sets people up for dissapointment. When it comes to films, it\'s best to keep your expectations as low as possible to truly enjoy anything. It was a popcorn movie afterall and it was absolutely perfect as one. There were plenty of subtleties for the comic book fans and plenty of action and story for non fans alike. Over the years, I\'ve grown a little bit similar to Ebert when it comes to rating films. I enjoy a movie with action and spectacle and judge it on different merits then say a psychological thriller or a mystery. When I do that, I just find films to be much more enjoyable walking into the theatres and expecting to be "Wowed" over and over again and because of that, X2 was an incredibly enjoyable popcorn film.
-
Saw it saturday night.... I loved it!
SPOILERS!!!
I really liked the effects of nightcrawler. But what really suprised me was the killing of humans! Wolerine kicks major ass up in there. And the scene where magnito pulled all the iron out of that guys body and killed everyone with it was spectaular :) I dont think the Pheonex thing was too obvious (escpecially for the people that have no idea who the pheonex is)
-
I totally agree ^ I was with someone who doesnt know the comics and they had no I dea what the last part meant about the phoenix: Nightcrawler please could we have gotten someone a little better all I could see was thumb thumbs running around him :-D and Rouge is cute but Jean Grey Damn fine assss hot. In the comics nightcrawler was never realted to mystique I belive or at least how i member it but somehow when the xmen cartoon airs on saturday I know the episode that says he is but I think they just did that for saturday cartoons.
-
I saw it yesterday, and I was impressed.
Kelly Hu is simply one of the most if not THE most beautiful woman on the planet. Too bad she didn\'t have any dialogue. [sp]Also too bad she had to be killed while she was under the influence of a mind control drug. That\'s correct, isn\'t it? There was one scene where she shakes her head and starts to come out of it, and then Stryker rushes over and puts another drop of the drug on her neck.[/sp]
[sp]The scene where Magneto escapes from his plastic prison was really done well. He really appears to be almost godlike in his abilities; no wonder he\'s megalomaniacal.[/sp]
One more stupid comment: The movie begins with a shot from space, plunging down to the Earth. I remember thinking how cool it would have been to frame all these Marvel movies with a brief monologue by The Watcher. I\'m not sure if he ever popped up in the X-Men comics, but he appeared in many other titles from time to time. Particularly The Fantastic Four. BTW, I\'m still waiting for a FF movie! That one is mine. :D

Answer to coredweller
[sp]She starts to come out of it yea, and wolverine kills her while she\'s drugged. She talks once that i remember in the movie. That\'s when Mystique pretends to be the janitor. She asks whats she doing in there. [/sp]
Also
[sp]When the guard gets injected with all the iron, surely that would have killed him. I doubt any human could have lived from that[/sp]

to your second spoiler? when did you loose the fact this was a movie about fictional characters? :nut:

I didn\'t.. But come on, there is a point. That was just plain STUPID

I think you chose the wrong words there. Nearly all movies are about fictional characters. What you\'re trying to say is this is a Science Fiction Fantasy. There are far more unbelievable occurances elsewhere in the story. For example, what about Nightcrawler\'s teleportation ability? How is that supposed to work? :surprised
By comparison, it\'s easy to swallow a guard carrying around a little extra metal dissolved in his blood. ;)
-
I thought it was great. Ten times better than the first. The story was much more deep. I am not saying it was all that, but pretty good. Can\'t wait for the next.

It\'s easier to accept a Science Fiction character based on what could be (mutants) having powers. Then it is for a fiction character (humans) being able to live when being pumped full of metal... It\'s just not logically and scientifically proven for a human to survive that. Wether it\'s in a science fiction movie or not. Humans are real and we do have limits. That human guard passed it.
"but it\'s fictional man"
Then why don\'t they make all humans in the movie have the ability to run up walls, or jump of 100 story roofs and survive.. I mean after all it\'s a science fiction movie right  Simple reason why they don\'t is because it wouldn\'t be acceptable for a human to do that. Seeing that the humans in the movie are meant to be just that... human...
I just see it like this.. The movies mutants can get away with anything because it\'s accepted that there just that.. Mutants that have powers. But if it\'s going to be believable. They could at least make the humans, human. Might as well call that guard a mutant..
ohh, and i\'m bored. ;)
-
Ok OK, I know its late and all of you have been seen it but i just got back from seeing it and OMFG. I always liked xmen, (since a little kid). Man that movie was so F***ing dope!!! Nightcrawler baby. Everyone else too.Semi Spoilers for those who are picky (School Girl/ Otaku mode) Geeze, Phoenix !!!!!!!!!!!! Man that was so dope (I almost cried:laughing: ). I cant wait to see the next one and what they do with that. Yeah the part with.... Ok ill stop cause it doesnt really matter now but... damn, so great.
-
** some spoilers **
Finally saw it tonight, at times felt long but not too often. Always fun when enemies have to work together to defeat a foe they have incommon.
Didn\'t like how easily some mutants were defeated by the human marines.
Seeing Collossus there fawking ruled, wish he had a bigger part in the movie (here\'s to hoping in X3). That guy by himself should have been able to defeat the entire human attack squadron, I mean C\'mon a giant super strong metal guy, however he didn\'t seem to have a russian accent when he said "I can help", sure it was short but it damned sure didn\'t sound russian.
Liked seeing Wolverine doing some slicing and dicing, I would have preferred more blood though.
The scene were Iceman cooled his Dr. Pepper was great.
And like everybody I was very much impressed with Nightcrawler in this movie, however I kinda found it funny that they had a scottish guy playing a german guy, a guy with one accent doing another one.
I\'m not a big fan of the whole Pheonix saga, but seeing Jean going up in flames was cool, seems they are tieing the Pheonix storyline with the events of X1, Cyclops said she hadn\'t been the same since the whole radioation thing on that island whatever it\'s called, or maybe it was the fact that she was playing with cerebro, either way she might have been incontact with the pheonix force in either of those occations.
But all in all the movie rocked.
-
On the whole blood thing. The movie was PG-13 blood would have killed that but im sure it wouldnt really matter. Spoilers It still looked good when he was F***ing up those soldiers. I also liked the whole wolverine bit that they finished up from the first. I remember i had the action figure of him when he was naked and stuff fresh out the lab. Pyro was kool too. He was kool in the fact that he didnt give a $#!t, especialy at the house . I need to shut up.
-
I think I\'m one of the last to see it... But damn it rocked. I knew Nightcrawler would rule! I always picked him when I played at that huge Xmen cabinet game at the arcade. :nerd:
Yuriko was damn sexy.... I haven\'t read the rest of the replies, but does anyone know her real name? I need pictures.
-
Her real name would be Kelly Hu (heh heh Kelly who? I don\'t know....yeah I make bad puns)
-
Well, she\'s pretty f\'n hot. The professional look with the long hair in the movie.... God. I didn\'t know she was that girl in the Scorpion King either.

oooooooooo sexy! :D
-
Collossus is in the movie?
Why didnt anyone tell me!!!! Im gonna watch it soon then- he is a total badass.
-
Yup, not much screen time though. I like how they included other characters, but just a brief part.... Like Beast on the news, Gambit\'s name popping up in file, and Jubilee at the end listening to Xavier.... C:cool::cool:l

Hell yeah i totally forgot about jubilee! She was one of my favorites that never got enough show in the cartoon series. Gambit should have been in there. He was badass and im sure a lot of people you didnt see the cartoons would like him.
As for nightcrawler and mistique. I thought in the cartoon that they were related? I havent seen it in soooooo damn long its amazing. I wish i could remember.
