I got my permit today. I\'m so happy that I can drive now. But my mom is a big backseat driver. She\'s like "that red light means you stop" and stuff like that. But hey, I can tune her out :D
-
Permit or license?
Its 14 here for Permit, and License is 16. 11 months for me until I can drive all I want.
-
I got my permit. I have to have it before I get my liscence.
-
I think you first have to learn how to spell license. :)
Logan constantly back seat drives now.
Light is Red he says stop.
Light is Green he says Go.
Light is yellow he says Go Faster.
He also likes to guess which way I am going to turn. SOmetimes I go the wrong way just to spite him. J/K
-
Newbs...... :p
-
I\'m going to drive to Dallas and run you over when I get my liscence SER
-
Keep off the Sidewalks! Titan is Driving! Just kidding have fun!
:hat:ScottyJ:hat:

Oh man you kids have so much to learn. I could write a book or teach a class.
For now, just one big suggestion:
Always use your turning signal. EVERY time you change lanes. EVERY time you make a turn. ALWAYS. If you do that, it will save your ass several times during your driving career. Guaranteed.
OK, class dismissed.

Damn they let you drive young in the US. We have similar road/highway system here and the earliest you can be allowed to drive is 16 and a half to get your learners and 17 to get your license.
14!!!
-
Only two or three states allow them 14 y/os to drive legally. Most it\'s 15 and one-half years.
-
Titan when your mom back seat drives, just look straight at her and thank her for telling you there was something there (the secret is to act like you don\'t see the road) After a few heart attacks, she\'ll stop.
-
^^
Hehehe, thats funny, gonna try it sometime.
-
Hey Titan get use to it. Cuz if never stops. Hell I am almost 21 now and my mother still tells me stuff like that...
-
I\'ve been driving for a year. Monkeys can do it.

This reveals exactly how much you DON\'T know about driving.
-
Well, we\'re talking about regular driving here... Not racing or stunt. :nerd:
-
^ with the way some kids drive around these days theirs no difference. not a week goes by without me seeing a wrecked car by the road.
btw congrats on getting yer permit Titan :).
-
Thats funny Tyrant, you somehow piece wrecked cars with kids, I\'d thought I\'d point out how that doesn\'t make sense.
-
kids as in people aged 16-18 year\'s, btw my previous made perfect sense to me (atleast).
-
I knew what you meant by kids, but you just go from talking about kids to wrecked cars.

well maybe i should\'ve used a "," instead of a ".".
i just meant that many a time i have passed by a scene of accident which was caused by a 17-18 year old coz of speeding or whatever reason.
-
There ya go, sorry I feel like being an ass today.
-
Difference between permit and license? In Spain, you can ONLY drive a car with license, that can be got at 18.
-
Permit is where you can drive with your parents for a certain amount of time before you earn your license.

I wonder what percent of permit-drivers belongs to the USA accidents. I can\'t see the positive point in driving without know what you\'re doing. Of course, I also know that many of the non-licensed drivers are much better than many other licensed ones... but...
-
I\'d actually say permit drivers don\'t cause that many wrecks at all. Just from being in high school the past 4 years, I can tell new license drivers are much worse.
-
In the UK you get a provisional licence when you are 17 and once you pass your test you apply for a full licence.

It\'s a teaching tool. As long as the parent knows what he\'s doing, then the young driver shouldn\'t cause any problems. For example, when I got my permit, I only drove in the neighborhood and parking lots. Then I would move to the residential/regular streets, then the freeway/highway.
-
I had my premit for around two years before I even bothered getting my actual lisence. I personally hate driving.
-shrugs-
-
To get the license, have you got to sit a theorical and practical exam, or what?
-
Written for premit.
Actual driving course for the real thing.
You have to make an 80 or above on both to pass the tests . I made an 80 exactly on the premit and the actual test.
-
Here, in Spain, getting a driving license is harder and harder every day. You only can obtain a driving license with 18 years. But before, you have to assist to a 2 months course of theorical concepts (with book). If you pass the theorical exam (50 questions, with 3 wrong you fail), you begin with the practical lessons, 20 of them are obligatory, 25€ per class. But if you need more, there is no "pack".
If you fail one of this exams, you have to renovate the papers again, more money for the state. An average person can spend about 1500$ in getting the license, but it\'s normal to find people that hace already spent 4000$ in the process and doesn\'t get it yet.
It\'s extra hard. If you fails 3/50 questions, you\'re dead. If you forget to watch to the mirror in a determined moment during the practical exam, you\'re dead. This is incredible...
-
Damn. I would of never got mine, as I forgot to look in my mirrors during my whole course test. I also forgot about my turning signals and etc.
Written test I didn\'t even read for, I just guessed the answers.

:laughing::laughing::laughing:
Even engineers, people with careers and smart students have serious problems to pass the theorical exam: full of tricky questions, problematic situations...

Amen brother.
I always use the turning signal and I curse people that don\'t.
-
And all this time I thought the turning signal was a christmas decoration that you only brought out once a year..
Damn!
;)
-
Your happy w/ your permit, come on, its more fun without your parents in the backseat. I know that. Anyway, driving is fun, I\'ve been doing it quite a while now.
-
Even when people use the turn signals, sometimes they turn it on a split second before they switch lanes... :D
