Anybody else watch this, besides the marginal renditions by other bands I thought it was pretty sweet.

Yeah i watched most of it. I was suprised to see how good bizkit did on sanitarium. I mean i was expecting som gay ass rap but it wasnt bad. It almost brought me back to the days of 3 dollar bill when they were alright.

KoRn was good and when Metallica played it was just ****ing kool. I thought they went to far when they had Avril Lavigne do fuel. I love that song. MTV sux but towards the end it wasnt all that bad.

It was sweet....but Snoop dogg.......Gimme a break he couldn\'t do metal songs if his life depended on it!  I would have ratehr seen Body count do one atleast they are more metal than Snoop...  the new guitarist rocks!!!!  I hope the new metallica disk lives up to the hype!

Watching it in half an\' hour.

My question:

What the **** is this : Avril Lavigne, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, and Snoop Dogg? First of all Avril lavigne sucks, she didnt write any of her songs or music. All written by somebody else- and her voice isnt that good. Then Linkin Park? Thats not metal- thats crap. The same goes towards limp bizkit. Its starting to piss me off because Metallica seems to be in it all for the money- instead of pleasing their huge and loyal fan base.

Can tell your hardcore Metallica-fan huh? Its a new bassist.

I heard some people on the radio say that the best parts of it were Limp Bizkit\'s and Avril Lavigne\'s covers.

What makes you think it\'s about money? I\'m sure they aren\'t getting paid to be at their own icon dedication... thing. They just love music, and that\'s why they play it. And that\'s he only thing that should matter, right?

I love Metallica, even if they don\'t give a shit about me. I like their music, and it\'s good, shouldn\'t that be pleasing enough?

ugh... you think metallica picked the bands?... its mtv for christ sake.  Metallica doesnt give a shit about pleasing their fans and i love them for it.  They play music for themselves, they have always said this.

ur misinformed... metallica and ja rule never even met... James was in rehab when they made the song.  A producer called metallica and asked if they wanted to work with Ja Rule, they said no but gave the producer some of they\'re guitar riffs.  And if you listen, they are really solid riffs... just ugh... ja rules in it :crap:

Yea, amazingly Limps rendition of Sanitarium wasn\'t half bad.  As for the show in a whole, it was decent considering it was run by MTV.  Staind didn\'t do half bad with Nothing Else Matters too.

And SER..........nice post.......padding the post count that nobody can see.......hmmmm.

Straight up Jumpy.

And for LimpBizkit, they did f***ing good on sanitaruim. That was one of the only songs played where Lars wasnt the only member of the band that was getting all into it. Whether Bizkit took the cake or not is a different story. Dj Leathal mixed a nice part into it. I didnt think they would pull it off.

I can\'t imagine limp bizkit having a good performence, when they played at wrestlemania, it was the worst thing i\'ve ever seen.

And yeah, MTV does suck.

Agreed... but dont forget Kill em all...  I wouldnt even consider the albums after their first four as being Metal... more like Hard rock... i still enjoy them but not nearly as much as Their first four albums.

But have no  fear, their new album is a return to their roots as well as a step forward.  Its fast, agressive but melodic at the same time.

If you want to listen to the sample of the new song from mtv icon go to http://www.allmetallica.com and download the first FRANTIC... its the best quality of the three.

One thing: NAPSTER

I watched it - Limp Bizkit, was decent. KoRn, was decent. Snoop Dog, Sum41, Staind, Avril Lavigne and that other dude basically sucked. Especially Snoop Dogg.

Nope, its all written by somebody else. Buy the CD- check it out. Look on the friggin webpage. She doesnt even play any of her own instruments on the CD.

Never said they picked the bands. It was just a few lousy pics. Especially Snot Dogg, and Avril Lavigne. They dont even fit into the metal genre. Avril Lavigne is supposivly \'punk alternative\'

Yes I know its a guitar, I dont seem to recall me taking it out of hand. But you refer to them as Bassists. Not Bass Guitarists- usually.

Overall it was a decent watch. Not really something I was extremely enjoyed or was looking forward too. I enjoyed it though.

And um...might we be forgetting the unbelievable Black Album.  This CD is just a great example of the versitility of Metallica>

How did everyone like the new song they played?  Its off St. Anger and I thought it was great, it was a different kind of Metallica (perhaps sober) but a great song nonetheless.

yes, the black album does show the versitility of the band... but i did not like that album very much.  It had a lot of catchy tunes but they got boring pretty quick.  I like every single song off of their first four albums and that is no exaggeration.  I dont have the same feelings towards the black album.

The proper term is bass guitarist, bassist is just shorter. :p

I thought it was great, nobody was really too horrible, except perhaps ol\' Snoop.

Really looking forward to the new album. Looks to own.

If you look around - they say they are making music for the fans. They all say that- but just trying to **** the music industry over and get as much cash as they want. Dude- good idea. But some people know this. I\'m for one. They get enough money from people that buy their CD\'s, Tours, Concert Tickets, and merch.

Buzz... wrong!

They have stated over and over that they make music for themselves.  They are happy when fans enjoy that music.

most people say that metallica sold out when they made the Black album, but Metallica loves the Black album and they are proud of it and thats all that matters to them.

I never said they were sell-outs.

And Metallica- just admit it. Like every other band out their is trying to pull in as much cash as they want. Shit- isnt that what everyone is doing? Lawyers, Retail Salesman, Chefs, Librarians even; are just trying to get some money in their pocket.

 Dont get me wrong. Metallica ****ing rocks. And I completely love them. But its all the same when it comes to money.
