Hehe yeah, that\'s a big part of it but not all.
It kinda of reminds me of Rambo 2 that trailer hehe

Fake.
Metal Gear Solid 3 is set in Russia. And that is a fact my good friends.

That is not a fact, just a theory based on the countdown image. And it could be set in Russia, but in the jungle as well. Remember MGS2? First the Tanker and then the cleaning plant. And no one could have faked a trailer like that.
The words that came with the countdown image: "Hungry for some Snake?" and the beginning of the trailer fit perfectly. No one could have made this trailer in such a short time after the revealing of the countdown.
-
Yeah I find it hard to believe that anyone could make such an elaborate fake in such a short period of time.
Why couldn\'t this be in Russia anyway?
I\'m pretty sure they got jungle-like forests in that huge country...
-
I\'m just jesting :p I haven\'t even seen the video it sticks at the part when he bites into the snake.
-
Its good, very good! Reminded me a little of the movie Predator
-
damn....all I get is jibberish! This isnt fair :(

This is why I love Konami...
I want more.

 the guy who ripped it of Sony\'s E3 DVD is in trouble.
As legal adviser of SCEE I put myself in contact with you because Sony® Computer Entertainment Spain knows clearly indications that its identity corresponds to the person who in the last hours has acceded, used and distributed material prevailed of restricted access, property of this company, with the consequent legal responsibilities that it entails. -
Those who have it can distribute it to others over AIM or whatever. We can\'t have the link posted here on this board though otherwise Sony will just come after us next and we don\'t want anything to do with that. Enough of you saw it, it\'s not hard to find again.
As to the validity of the trailer, Gamers.com confirms that it is real. However, it should be noted that this is actually a teaser and the actual trailer will be over 9 minutes in length and will premier at E3 on Tuesday. Just wait until then people, it only gets better from here.
-
Wait, Ryu, explain please why we can\'t have the trailer on this site? I\'m a bit confused. Thanks. And if someone has it, can they IM it to me or something or even PM me the link.
-
PM with the link!!!

Sony is going after sites with that link posted on it and for the sites best interest, until it\'s officially released, it\'s best not to pass around links publicly. Sure, they can go after the source, but they\'ve already gone after websites linking to it in their news sections including a few good friends of mine and I really don\'t want us to be put into the same position where Bjorn recieves an angry E-mail protesting the fact. Better safe then sorry. Good policy imo.
Like I said though, going about it through private (IE: Message) needs (that was clever) is a very good way to go about it that I have no problem with. Alterior methods are out there, just have to use that brain people. It\'s not hard. :)
-
Bueller bueller.....
-
I think it\'s safe to post the link again. Gamespot has the video, IGN has it... basically, it\'s posted everywhere, even on the official gaming sites.
-
AAAAA!!!! I havent even watched it and i have goosebumps. Just reading the posts. Damn u all. Im off to watch it. Peace
-
Damn. Back in the glory days. This is dope. Im glad to see snake out of the hi-tech complex into something more rambo, like the good ol days. The whole shirt off, diving into the waterfall= Dope. Man if only they could remake a game on ps3 where he is back in Africa. Sadly, being the idiot i am i forgot where it is and i think it starts with a z but everytime i think of z i think zanarkand (wich we all know is wrong).
-
Zanzibar
-
OK, the links can be posted again. Sorry for the small blackout earlier folks. :)
-
Link doesn\'t work!:(
Edit: here is a new link from IGN
http://mediaviewer.ign.com/ignMediaPage.jsp?object_id=536086&channel_id=70&page_title=Metal+Gear+Solid+3:+Snake+Eater
I can\'t seem to get these working either, if they need quicktime then i\'m fuxored because my comp won\'t install quicktime for some reason.
-
after saving it to my hard drive I\'ve just watched it 3 times and I gotta say, if this is the real thing then I\'m impressed!
Konami continue to amaze me.
Hopefully this will whoop Splinter Cells Ass!
this goes to my good buddy Scott who said it wouldn\'t happen..."F**K YOU MATE!WHO\'S RIGHT NOW?"
I\'m off to E3 anyway cause I go every year and I want to see the new Smackdown! Game for PS2,MGS3,and whatever else is on show.
-
:o Why do you hope this will .. ahhum .. \'whoop Splinter Cell\'s @ss\' ? some ppl......
Anyway, this is looking good. The jungle and the water are really well done. I wonder though what kind of stealth gameplay system
Kojima is gonna use, becuz in the jungle there are no rectangular walls, lockers and crates ; it\'s all organically shaped. How is the AI gonna be determined to identify which parameters will be used for being detected or not ?
Back to the content of this little movie again ; did Solid Snake just lost his sane mind here ? The guy is kinda destroying everything, not to mention the sanke eating
-
drooooooool.........
konami never sease to amaze me, this game is gonna be great.
btw damn joo for posting the link after i downloaded the 31mb ign movie :p ;).

I\'m just winding you guys up, and it looks to have worked man.
Yeah the effects look nice,I don\'t blame Snake for going mad cause If I was stuck on the Big Shell and Tanker (both on Substance) then I\'d go mad.
Thank you Kojima, you show us why videogames are cool, and a big part of our lives.
as long as you don\'t do the whole skateboarding thing again but on a raft, then this will sell.
Eating Snakes?suppose thats one way of killing them I guess.
Roll on E3...I hope I don\'t get it like we did 2 years ago when we had to queue up for ages just to see The Sons Of Liberty trailer...but that was well worth the wait! :bounce: :boom:
So lets hope Raiden drowned or something cause he was SO gay...
Erm,I wonder if this has E3 Game of 2003 written all over it?
So much for Metal Gear Solid 3:The Patriots
-
Holy shit!
I was in shock and awe there for a bit :p
-
Ahuhuh... Huhuh... "Snake Eater"...
:p
Just a couple more days... I really want to see this! I might have to attend all 3 days now.

lol I knew someone HAD to get that little joke in!
We are staying in London for a few days so we can go to the full show like we always do.
Should be interesting this year cos we are seeing the full potential of all 3 consoles.
-
I\'m downloading it right now. Damn, I\'m so excited.

Thanks for clearing it up for me Ryu. But its out on every site now so they can\'t really do much about it.
-
Which is why I recanted my position. :)
-
this game will have co-op play and GT4 will now have 10 cars on track and realtime weather effects but no damage I\'m sad to report.
-
How do you know?
Heeh, you got to share your links sometime. Your sitting on a goldmine of info about Ps2 :)
-
Holy cow, D/L now, CANT WAIT!!!
-
wow.....looks great
-
Rambo style fighting in the Jungle that would be kick ass, I do hope though that they set it in more than one area, and don\'t **** up the ending like they did the last one
-
Rambo!!!!!
-
You guys are aware that Rambo wasn\'t the most stealthy of soliders, right? I\'m curious as to how the stealth aspect will be handled in the jungle. When you move, will leaves and branches crackle under your feet? If so - will it alert a guard? What will you hide behind? A tree? In the bushes? If the gameplay takes place outside, will the enviroment change from night and day? The list goes on and on.
Taking MGS into the jungle is risky business, due to the fact there are a lot more variables that have to be taken in account, as opposed to a tanker, where there are plenty of empty hallways, without nothing to alert guards and more than enough walls to hide behind.

Don\'t worry. The jungle probably won\'t be the whole game, and I\'m sure Kojima can think of ways to make the game "sneakable" in the jungle setting.

Camaflouge, \'ey! Or hiding in trees. There\'s a lot of different possibilities open to Konami for this. If they do it right, it could end up being the best Metal Gear ever. :D
-
Is anyone going to send me the PM. Bueller. Bueller...
-
You don\'t need the PM. There are links. Sheesh! :D
Make no mistake, I dislike MGS and most of Hideo\'s work, but I also have mass respect for Hideo and his team. If anyone can pull of so magical tricks with the PS2 hardware, it is Hideo and his team. MGS2 and ZOE engine\'s are prime examples of this.
The only thing I think is that taking MGS into the jungle is very risky. When you are in an outside enviroment, the player wants more freedom to roam. Yet, MGS is basically linear in a lot of ways and they\'ll have to restrict the player on where he / she can go. This will hurt the game. Another thing is the sounds and shapes of what the jungle should be in a game. There is a lot of things Hideo and his team must take into consideration and get just right.
-
Watched it- I can say this;
My pants need changing. That is some ****ing kick ass stuff. I am gonna watch it again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again. Amazing
-
Umm......why is he eating a snake? :crap:
the only thing i dont like from the looks of that trailer is the stealth part of the game doesnt look as important as in the previous 2.
-
Why is he eating a snake? From what I know soldiers in special forces(from what I know from greece and cyprus) are trained that way so they can survive by their own by using whatever they find in their enviroment.
Commandos are sent and left in the mountains with minimum supplies to survive by their own as a part of their training. So eating a snake for a professional operative as Snake is normal in order to survive..
-
The trailer didn\'t work for me. I\'ll need to find a format that I could use with Winamp.
-
Why would you watch videos via Winamp? Makes no sense to watch movies in a program that is primarly an audio player.
Go download Windows Media player or Quicktime\'s newest version. Tryin\' to watch videos in Winamp is just pointless.
-
No, its not. Winamp is 100x better than WMP or Quicktime, and its all I use for watching videos now.
-

Didnt know you could do that. Kool. And as for the whole snake eating thing, im surpised so many of you were so dumbfounded by this. Of course its for survival. I dont think snake is doing it just because he thinks hes ....for the lack of a better word, "macho." Anyway, im sure Kojima and friends didnt go into this game blindly so i think its almost safe to expect some magic. As for the whole free-roaming thing, i know how it could be played out. Its hard to explain but this isnt a very long and diversified environment so we cant really say much about it now. I want to see how this ties in with 2 because after all that partiot jargon i would think this would be another tech game instead of a rambo type game.
What is Otacon going to do? Send snake some hi tech bamboo stick or an encrypted message via the grape vine? I think not.
Damn and what about the box? I cant even imagine that working. A box in the middle of the bushes. Hmmm meh probably nothing.

Trust me, Winamp sucks for video. It\'s horrible. Use wmp6.4 or zoomplayer to watch videos...
-
I use winamp for video because its the only thing on my computer that actually works for video. Can anyone link me up to a trailer that is not a .mov (my computer can\'t play it)? I REALLY want to see the trailer. Gamespot has it but its down and they won\'t allow me to sign up. They are really being so gay to me.
-

Nope. Thats just your opinion. As far as I am concerned Winamp s one of the better video players out there. You can continue using slow, buggy, spyware ridden WMP.
-
wmp6.4 was last good wmp, but it is good.
I also like sasami2k for it\'s filter possibilities.
oh.. and the Video kicks ass.. :)
heres link for .wmv, but quality could be better..http://movies.computerandvideogames.com/41003/MetalGearSolid3Trailer.wmv

No that\'s not just my opinion. Only fools use winamp to play movies on, it\'s slow and takes up too much system resources and I\'ve found out that it has problems with a lot of movies I try to play. It\'s a damn audio program, you have to be a fool to think it\'s a better video player than zoomplayer, powerdvd etc. And that\'s a fact. If you don\'t want spyware use Zoomplayer. Don\'t be narrow minded, at least give zoomplayer a shot, it\'s freeware too.
-
Slow? Has Winamp ever been slow? No. Its very fast. And it uses like 0.05% CPU usage. I\'m not being narrowminded.
Ok this is a stupid arguement, lets get back on topic.
Some people tell me "That guy in the trailer is Big Boss, can\'t you see that his right eye is missing?". I\'m afraid I don\'t. And I know that after the huge outcry from fans when he replaced Snake in MGS2 there is no way you would play as anyone other than Snake in MGS3. Hideo Kojima is not stupid. Not to mention that it will be the last MG game ever most likely.
-

Wouldn\'t it be great if the game turns out to be like this ;
Ppl play until the ending fmv assuming they\'ve played as
THE Solid Snake, then all of a friggin\' sudden the fmv scene
explains the character you\'ve been playing through the game
(thinking it is Solid Snake) -> isn\'t Solid Snake at all
That would imho be the best d@mn hoax Kojima could pull
on us.

The full trailer is out at both IGN and Gamespot, but you have to be a member to see it.

The trailer is now at Fileplanet. You have to register but it\'s free.
