Just checking out this baby now Racer, i havn\'t posted in ages as i have sold my ps2 but definatly considering
re-purchase of one just for this game.. sorry fellas if i seem to have abandoned this place due to selling
my ps2, but i have gone off games in a big way. but once a racer, allways a racer.
and just after watching that, well.. i think i\'d better get another one :0)

if you have a problem with it, copy the link, open up Quicktime and go to file-> open URL and paste and play. That is what I had to do.

So tasty. The quality of the MOV wasnt that good but damn thats nice. You can tell that the canyon shots look very possible and very good indeed. I want snow dammit! Hopefully they will put it in but if not... meh, still getting it.

Some update:
The Online Arena, which sits alongside the Career (Gran Turismo) and Arcade modes, allows up to 6 players to race head-to-head on any of GT4\'s stunning tracks, as well as including chat functionality and an in-depth menu screen. As well as being able to compare performances in the game, GT4 players will be able to interact about all kinds of auto-related topics. Whether or not you\'ll be able to go on to try and flog your twelve-year-old Escort remains to be seen, but it seems fairly inevitable that it\'ll become one of the hottest communities on PS2.
GT4 is quite literally crammed with automotive goodness; up to 100 tracks and over 500 authentic vehicles, from vintage through to modern. In contrast to previous GT titles, there\'s an increased emphasis on real world tracks, which include New York City, the Grand Canyon and the Tsukuba racing circuit.

Oh God. I guess we are about to get hundreds of GT4 threads now from Racer. Then when it comes out he\'ll get it early and then procede to rag on it when everyone else gets it as if it\'s no big whoop.

OOOO S***! I cant help the giddyness sorry but jebus. This game is one of my most wanted ever. It looks so good, even in the screens. Drool* 6 players online look at the clouds and the canyon! Melt* If i were a little teenie bopper gurl then this would definately be my NSYNC :laughing: (Gay i know, and im not and i dont care!). And with so many people anticipating to get this game, then there is no doubt that it will be filled with players 24/7

From what I\'ve read its gonna be more circuit driven, which is good, cause its not gonna turn out like a NFS racer.
The rally section is also going to rock.

The textures look much better than GT3. Of course, I don\'t know exactly what to say until I play the game. I\'m definitely going to E3 2004. I\'m just too damn poor to go to it this year. Didn\'t they say that GT4 would have damage effects to the cars this time? That would be awesome. GT3 wasn\'t realistic in that aspect. It would suck hardcore, though, if fixing the damages is just as insanely high-priced as it is in today\'s crappy world. :/

Gamespot "Gran Turismo 4" Impressions
The biggest initial difference you\'ll notice between Gran Turismo 3 and Gran Turismo 4 is the graphics. It seems as though Polyphony Digital has substantially upped the amount of trackside detail for some of the courses without sacrificing the quality of the car models. The New York City track looks especially impressive with its entire recreation of Times Square down to the MTV offices and the illuminated NASDAQ sign. The textures in this environment are especially impressive with billboards looking vibrant and crisp. It\'s also worth noting some of the more subtle details such as the reflective windows on store fronts and smaller objects that cast shadows out onto the track. The car models look just as good as those in Gran Turismo 3 with some subtle environmental mapping apparent on the sides of the cars, but they don\'t look substantially better than the car models in the previous game. The lighting is also much more defined and is successful in making the game look much more realistic.

Drool* If they throw in damage that is going to be kinda bad. I mean think. How often do you run into gaurdrails, boundaries and other cars in just one race? I mean when you just start out that would suck to have your beutiful new panda trueno all banged up so that you cant drive so well. For bigginers this would be hell and the sales would drop a lot i think. The only way i can see this happening is if they only keep it on a harder difficulty and increase CPU AI because all gt fans know that the AI cars run on a set pattern and if they want to merge and your in their way then you will hit eachother. The only thing that i could truely wish for now, is responsive and indevidual AI where your opponents react to your moves.

still waiting for word on weather and time of day variables. but it still looks like peeps cant cut grass and bounce off walls with no effect...this may be the downfall of the online aspect and if you guys drive like the peeps in the videos I\'ll win easy!

do we have changeable weather conditions & car damage this time ?
i read somewere there areat least different versions of the same track for the different seasons (spring/summer/fall/winter) i think it was games.com

Yeah, I\'ve heard about the different seasons for the tracks too, but car damage is apparently a no go this time. There was speculation that there was going to be a damage mode where only selected cars could be damaged. I think that would spoil the rest of the game.
There had better be some snow and fog, and where are the rainy tracks? Thats for surely gotta return.
