Title: Seven Samurai (for you mm)
Post by: Lord Nicon on May 25, 2003, 01:32:43 PM: Yeah i was going through gamespot and to my suprise i found that sammy studios is making a seven samurai game. I personaly dont know what to think of it but im sure mm isnt going to think too highly of it, (like LIC and the new Castlevania): Seven Samurai @ Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/sevensamurai/preview_6028341.html)

We were quite taken aback when Sammy first announced that it would be publishing a game based on the movie Seven Samurai in conjunction with late director Akira Kurosawa\'s son. And we were even more surprised when Sammy finally unveiled the game at E3, since it actually has very little that\'s obviously in common with the film that inspired it. Seven Samurai 20XX takes place in the future, and its plot, setting, and cast are completely different from those of Kurosawa\'s classic. Superficially, the game has much more in common with sci-fi-themed anime than with the black-and-white samurai movie, and the gameplay itself is reminiscent of third-person hack-and-slash games like Koei\'s Dynasty Warriors series and Crimson Sea. At any rate, we were eager to get our hands on the E3 demo and slice our way through it. What we found was a game that\'s easy to pick up and play, looks very good in motion, and could end up being a lot of fun.

From what they said, they are working very closely with his estate, and they\'ve got some big names working on it. I don\'t know if it will be a hit, but they do seem to be aware that people don\'t want this to be shovelware.

Seriously, dude you have the most bitchy attitude in the world. You just look at some screens and read some stuff and think it will ashame the series? **** dude- quit your bitchin\' and be optomistic- for all you know this game could be totally rocking, decent, or unplayable...

I have yet to see you say anything is good its always "Its not as good as the first" or "it sucks" stuff like that- get out of that shithole and ****ing smile.

me hates it even more due to the fact that they over use the letter x in the title.

God what is it with games developers... do they think they can get the kids to buy their God awful game just by tagging a few x\'s on the end of their title or console :p

and whats with the H.U.D and freaking power meters !

near enough 1/2 of the screen are covered by unnecessary gumff.

Either way - they are butchering it. They\'re taking it to the future and making it a Dyntasy Warriors type game. None of the two even sound remotely interesting..Espically the future part.

They can only do this with a select group of things and Seven Samurai is definately NOT among them. Sigh* hack and slash games. I think the industry could take a break from flat out hack and slashes with a pathetic storyline or mini games. tisk tisk *shaking head*
