Edit: Make that a definate PS2 purchase again for me esp after watching that again. :0)
i heard something about a new 50000 ps2 or something.. without the firewire port and much lighter and less noisy.
be cool if anyone would like to fill me in with any news regarding release of it. i may just hold off until this new
version of ps2 is available, but i\'m in the UK so i dont expect it anytime soon.

This should be a great game, I really enjoyed the first 2 so I will most likely get this one too.
Those 5000 series ps2\'s are only available in Japan at the moment so I wouldn\'t hold your breath for a UK release for a while yet.

Thanks Kurt, well i\'m considering holding out until either a) a price drop or, b) more info on that 5000 series ps2.
I cant knock the ps2, iv\'e had 2 of them and never had any problems that i couldnt solve with them,
so hardware defects really aren\'t an issue.. right, i\'m off to take a look around some sites and see how much
i can bag one for, or see if i can find any ramblings about a forthcoming price drop.
i\'d hate to buy one now only for it to be £50 cheaper next month.

i never realized that their was a WRC game coming out i loved the previous ones (tho i was a bit dissapointed with the graphics of the second).
btw the new ps2\'s are nothing special, its just some minor design changes and the ilink port was removed, oh yeah it can also play DVD-R/RW discs.

Regarding the new ps2 series: less noisy, DVD +/- R/RW playback, IR sensor for remote built in between the reset and eject buttons. That\'s about it really.

Thanks for the info guys.. i\'ll prolly give the new version a miss then, as i have no need for dvdr playback
and the other functions seem minimal since i allready have a set top dvd player which really only gets used
by the kids. i\'ll pick up a \'normal\' one as soon as my funds allow me, i have been keeping up with some of
the stuff rolling out for the PS2 but i\'m sure not upto speed at the moment. but i have seen stuff like J&D2 and
wouldn\'t mind playing them.. anyways, thanks all and i hope to pull the funds together soon so i can pick up
another PS2.
There were a couple of reasons why i got rid of my last PS2, i was suffering from rsi quite badly and couldnt play
for a while and quite frankly i lost a lot of interest due to my personal life.
also, the other reason was to help pay for a holiday for me, the wife and kids.. so that\'s sorted now.
i can look forward to my holiday, relax then come back and get on with life.
...and play some games :0)...

Sorry Mak, i\'m running media player 9 and seems fine, wether or not another codec has been installed
somewhere along the lines whilst running xp is not to my knowledge. have you tried downloading any codec packs? also, if anyone can, could they please post a couple of screens from this vid
for those who dont want to download the 22 meg video file.

yeah, same here. Can\'t view it. I refuse to download anything newer than mediaplayer 6.4 though. :rpissed:

it\'s clearly an early version, cause the grapics as of yet look worse than those in wrc2

WRC2\'s graphics IMO weren\'t THAT amazing. Much better than the first one, but not groundbreaking. The tracks still have that fractally generated feel to them, with stretched out textures etc.
