Title: VH1\'s Top 100
Post by: videoholic on June 11, 2003, 03:29:04 AM
Smells Like Teen Spirit?  Huh?  Descent song, but the greatest song in the past 25 years?  It made a large impact in the music world, but I ceratinly didn\'t think it was great.

http://www.msnbc.com/news/924897.asp?0ql=c7p

and Lose Yourself is the 4th best?

What?

I\'m not even an M&M fan, but I certainly think some other stuff is better than that thing.

Whatever. Guess I am getting old.  friggen Billy Jean at number 2...  oye.

Go Nirvana.

But Kashmir should of been #1. Actually, I didn\'t think I saw it on the list at all. Oh well, even if it was completely objective, Teen Spirit still would of made the top 5 IMO.

I\'d hope so considering they\'ve got to be kissing some serious ass to put Eminem on the list, let alone in 4th.

This is pathetic. That song is one of the reasons Metallica lost some value. That song sucks, they should\'ve put One on their instead. Much better song.

No Tori Amos? No Fiona Apple? No Portishead? No Opeth? No Sunny Day Real Estate? Count me out! Biased polls! Biased polls, I say!

P.S - \'Smells like Teen Spirit\' f**kin\' rocked and was a 90\'s angst anthem.

My thoughts exactly. Like Jumpman said, VH1\'s other "Top 100\'s" are usually pretty damn good (See: Shocking Moments), but this...wow. I can deal with Teenspirit at #1, simply because the song was \'The Anthem\' in the early 90\'s, but the rest....wow. Simply incredible the bullshit they put on that list.

See Yuz.

I can\'t remember where I read it but I\'ve heard it from many different sources that the most popular song of all time was "Yesterday" by the Beatles.
