My choice=Dark Age Of Camelot
I\'ve had it for about a month now and I\'ve already put around 168 hours into it, that\'s a full week of playing it. It\'s the sole reason why I\'m not constantly creating idiot topics and why I\'m not posting nearly as much as I used to. Whenever I\'m on my computer, I\'m playing this game.
Basically, its a MMORPG like Everquest, but it has one difference that completely makes in different than all the Everquest clones out there: Realm Vs Realm, the entire point of the game. In other words, people vs people. This game is much more deep than Everquest and far better in terms of all around quality. You level up by fighting monsters in your realm but when your high enough you can be apart of keep and relics raids which are the greatest experience other when you try to take over other realms\' stuff. Takes around 12-20 to take a keep and atleast 80 to take a relic down.
The different kind of characters you can chose are all cool in their own way. There are stealthers, who anyone besides other stealthers have no chance of seeing before they input massive damage on you. They\'re hard as hell to level(I\'m a Nightshade, arguably the best RVR char in the game), but they ARE the best at killing other people.
There are tanks. They basically fight in the middle of the huge battles and they\'re very strong and hard to kill. Good at killing monsters and good at killing people.
There are healers. No explanation needed they just heal they can\'t really fight unless you train them in fighting. They level very fast because everyone wants them in their groups.
There\'s a couple of more classes but those are just a couple of the main ones. Everyone should go buy this game now. Its only like 30 bucks now too. Great game. If you\'re interested join the server called "Bedevere" and join the realm "Hibernia". Most. Addictive. Game. Ever.
Anyways...your choice?

the only problem with DAoC is that well, there is RvR, and there is is.. flat out nothing else interesting.
it\'s hard to judge the depth of a game that\'s been around close to 5 years now, with 4 expansion + 1 extension. The world itself and is story (wich you can buy a 500something pages encyclopedia) make DAoC look like very small wolrd. the raid features, the bazaar system, the faction system, the new spell system (implemented today), the planar zones, the whole new "newbies" help (tutorial, loads of starting quest) etc..etc..it\'s going to take a long time before any game come as "deep" as Everquest is..

RvR is EVERYTHING in DAoC. Everything else uninterestting...wtf is a quarter as interesting in Everquest? Nothing. No matter how many pages of encyclopedia or how many expensions it gets, it will never be as intense or addicting as Dark Age. At its core, Everquest is still a form a group and kill a monster game. Dark Age is so much more than that.
And DAoC is not a small little world. Maybe you forget it has 3 realms, each of them would take atleast an hour to run from one side to the other, probably a lot more.

wtf is a quarter as interesting in Everquest?
about everything. guild progression throught the content. guild race for the content. dungeons and new areas hunt for exp. Quest (10th ring war, prayer shawl, epic quest for each class, etc..) there is soooo much to do.
and lastely, RvR suck because the balance (N* of player per realm) will always give advantage to one realm vs another.

Everything does not=only thing to offer. The thing is, all those other stuff you mentioned for Everquest like guild progression, "epic" quests, leveling for xp, DAOC has all of that. There\'s soooooo much to do but why bother when there\'s RVR which is infinitely better. Only when your 50(max level, which will take you over 2 months to get probably if you dont know people), you xp for realm skills, and you get these, by killing other players, which is 100X more fun than killing any monster in Everquest. It\'s like leveling past 50. All 50\'s are not even.
And um...realms don\'t have advantages over other realms unless they have relics.

It\'s not like Q3 where you just go somewhere and start fighting other players. People just don\'t do that. There are "we meet here and we fight each other", all of the fighting between players occurs mainly in battles for keeps/relics or in Darkness Falls. Darkness Falls is the main dungeon in the game, and all 3 realms can access it if one realm has more keeps than the other. And its worth going on long raids for.

Just read the reviews for Everquest and its expansions and read the reviews for DAOC.

reviews for DAoC?! i have, hence i don\'t play the crap (and neither does 90% of the MMORPG market). i would give AC and UO more respect

Really? I\'ve yet to come across a site where Daoc received a lower than Everquest or any of its expansions.

Popularity does not equal=quality. We\'ve been over this!
If people do leave DAOC, its because they haven\'t played long enough. Most people leave DAOC before lvl 15. For the first 15 levels, yeah, its not so great feels like Everquest for those levels but once your 15 you can go on the battlegrounds for 15-20.(Also BG\'s for 20-25, 25-30, 30-35...then its RVR). It takes time to get into but if you have patience then its more than worth the end result.

Isnt it bad that the game can;t keep someone occupied for 15 levels? If it was the best MMORPG than it would be able to keep people playing through those 15 levels.
