I had a ton of respect for Colin Powell before this current BUsh administration, but things have been going downhill fast in my eyes.
He just said that war is not the answer to the peace process. This is in regards to the latest Pal./Isr. developements. hypocrite much?
A bomb on a bus....
3 air strikes....
-
Hmmm well I see the irony in the statement, but the Pal/Israeli situation is never going to be resolved unless:
1. The destruction of Israel
or
2. The extermination of the Palestinians
80 percent of the Pals don\'t believe 2 separate nations can exist... that is a very ominous sign.
-
For once id almost like to see a war and not suicide bombings or mortar attacks from one side or another. Just to see what the US will do, as If I dont know better.
-
Man that siuation over there is a mess. I doubt that it will ever be solved in our lifetimes.
-
A part me says let\'s take any restraint that we have on Israel and let them clean house. This will never end.

So why do you back Isreal?
-
I don\'t see Israel packing bombs onto their citizens and sending them out to indiscriminately kill civilians.
-
So you agree with Sharons numerous UN violations?
I say that Isreal, Palastine and any other country that wants to fight in that area to just go at it and the last men standing win. :)
-
I agree, I want Isreal to win, though.
-
I dont care who wins as far as less casualties..but in the end, that land needs to be divded up again.
-

why should they, thats what the helfire missiles are for.
i dont think that this pal/isr. issue will ever be resolved, every time that their is a chance for peace a missle is fired or a bus is blownup.
i personally think that their are people on both sides who benefit greatly from the conflict, one apparent indication of this is the Hamas group the conflict gives them power otherwise their nothing not to mention all the money they get.
-
I suggest we borrow Greenland for a while, tell anyone wanting a fight to turn up and give them all some rations, a map, a compass and an AK (possibly some grenades too). The idiots that are ruining it for everyone will be killed off and the peace can start.
I just don\'t see any solution to the problem when Israel are so stubborn and the Palestinians are so intent on killing Israelis. Bush has got his hands full with this one but I don\'t really expect a solution. When hatred is bred into the children from the moment they\'re born it\'s something not many will be able to understand or reconsile.

I find it so funny that people think Isreal is an innocent bystander being attacked by the evil Palestinians. Dont you people realize that for every Israli killed about 5 Pals are killed or forcefully relocated from land that is thiers.
So, Isralis dont blow up innocent civilians with human bombs huh? I guess its just that they have the money to buy missles, and use them to blow up housing on the west bank, or just go in with bulldozers and destroy houses on the Gaza Strip while people are still in them.
But, Im not saying that Pals are completely innocent either. Each side is completely guilty, but to chose one side over the other based on how "evil" the other country is foolish. Make a decision after you truely know the situation and history.

I dont remember the numbers, but I remember reading a blurb about how one year we gave Isreal more money than we spent on cancer research. Something is SERIOUSLY wrong with that.
-
Thats what happens when you are the only democracy in a region full of dictators and fundamentalists. Not that I have any great love of Israel.
-
Its not our problem where-as we could have spent that money on our problems.
Thats the main issue I have with that, other than the UN violations.
-
I personally think that the Pals and Israelis can live in harmany together if they can resolve their differences. But thats probably not gonna happen though. One day, this may change and we can live in peace. Until then....

/me spit\'s out coffee when reading this.
You can\'t get more fundamentalist than refugee camp tank shelling Israelis.
-
One persons "refugee camp" is anothers "terrorist camp".
-
^^^ Too true. Thats the breeding ground for all terrorists. The sad thing is, the children are being indoctrinated by their parents who are terrorist supporters and it goes downhill from there. But that was the same about racists and things are a little better than they used to.
