First Person Shooter Frames Per Second Problems

Well, I play CS.

I had a 8bit load of shit built in video card. I updated to a GeForce 2 MX400 64mb. I know its not top of the line- but it was really cheap.

Well I get about 40 fps average on CS at a 640x480 or whatever resolution. Is their anyway to increase the fps?

I know net_graph drains it alot, so I have it binded for on/off.

I know all those console tweaks (max_shells, rate, max_etc.)

but is their anything else? Im shooting for an average of 55 fps.

Update your drivers from Nvidia\'s website.  Turn off anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering.

You sir are a ****ing dick.

I have been a fan of the hulk since I was 3 years old so how about this- I rag on your sorry ass?

The reason I havent had my avvy as him- is ive been looking for a decent one. Everything is of the newer hulk from the movie, and personally I dont like the look of him- but still glad the Hulk is being relived.

Seriously mm go rag one someone elses ass.

spudz r u using opengl or direct3d? (open CS got to options> video> modes) if its set to direct3d then change it to opengl, CS lags like hell on d3d.

nevermind i figured it out..

well im running at a average of 70fps which is very nice cause i was running at 20-10 fps with my old video card.

one last question: it jumps alot sometimes its 30, others 90, others 80, sometimes it drops to 20.

My last question: how can i stablize this so it doesnt jump like a mexican over a fence?

^ i dont think u can prevent that it all depends on whats going on on screen, or the no of polygons being drawn, my advice is turn off netgraph or cl_showfps and dont bother too much about it.

I believe there is a way to set a cap on FPS in HL.  It\'s a console command.  That way you can atleast cap it at about 60 so it doesn\'t jump as much.
