Archer\'s die likes flies when people get to the wall... even wizards.... How do you use the wizard "convert" magic?  I can only use the insta kill

Well, it\'s stupid how your wizards just die every round.  I have like 35 wizards, you never, ever get hit even once, have fortifications up to 10000 hps on the castle, and in one round I lost 33 wizards... I just don\'t get that.

*edit*
Yep, died finally on round 18, 3102 casualties, 435900 score.

The last few rounds, even though I never got hit, I was loosing a few overall....  I would have like 15 "unused" converts every round, and immediatly put em all in wiz, hopefully hitting 25-40, and then during the round you have enough to convert a lot more guys, for a few archers (10-15), and engineers (1-3).  But eventually, you get to the point where you would need 40 unused converts to survive the next round, cause almost all your wizards die every round.

2096 casualties
Unfortunetly I loose more people than I can convert.  The game\'s fun, but I quit because I couldn\'t keep building up my forces, thanks to the amount of archers and wizards I was loosing.

Strategy for the later levels:

2-5 archers, for picking off the few who get through
1-3 engineers
25-40 wizards

Constantly convert guys.  Both in the castle, and with the wizards.... With enough wizards, you can convert one of the group, and then detonate the rest (getting 20-30 kills at a time, including giants, and a convert).... if you have enough wizards you can convert 1 with every wave, if not, 1 every two waves.  Doing this (you need to have had a perfect/spend no money except converts rounds 1-10), you can survive rounds 10-16 pretty easily, but then attrition gets to you.  Fortification helps, but when I died in 18 I had 38000 hps on the castle.

Giants:  Can\'t be lifted, so you have to have archers to kill them, or use wizards blast/kill/convert.  They appear after lvl 10, so you will need wizards/archers.
Slow battering ram guys:  These are usefull around lvl 7-10, because you can still do those levels without any help at all, so you kill these guys last (there\'s a limit per level on how many guys are on screen).  That way you can concentrate on getting 4-5 conversions per level from 4-10, and killing guys by mouse.

Demolition guys - nice idea, but that convert would be better spent somewhere else, same effect as wizards blast, but takes a couple of clicks, and can get you killed (though it can be a last ditch defence if your gate is under attack and your out of wizards).

I\'m at level 30 now. 50 of each type of defenders. My wizards never die. The archers are eating them up like a lawn mower. :D

Then they have enemy suicide bomber. They actually help YOU! :D Just click on them. :)

I wish I knew why ur wizards weren\'t dying gman.... do you use the explosion ability with them at all?

I was thinking that maybe that one cost 1 wizard or something (very unfair if that\'s the case)

Cause even in rounds where nobody hit the castle, I loose most of my wizards (usually 1-2 archers, too).

That is one of those games that makes you think "wow, this is crap!", then after playing it for a while, you think "wow, this is crap, I\'ll just play until the end of this level", the next thing you know, you are playing it for ages.

Just be sure to get more money than you pay for upkeep. Also, make sure you have plenty of recruits so in case you do lose some people, you\'ll have a supply ready. Right now, I have 160 archers, 100 engineers and 50 wizards. No one touches the castle!

Seriously, I have no idea why my guys just die at the end of rounds.... I end up with 30k spendable points around lvl 15, but I lose everybody!  Nobody hits the damn castle, either!

*EDIT*

Got it.  The points you get during the round and at the end don\'t go for upkeep, so you have to have a bankroll to cover all your guys AT THE START of the round!

*EDIT*

Well, now that I know that, the game is easy.

Lvl 28 done, I have 150000 hps, and 600k in the bank.
550 archers
200 wizards (all I do is convert, all round)
200 engineers (they\'re a bargain, 50 each instead of 200 like the others)

Everything dies soooo fast.  I\'m just playin\' now to see if there will be any more units coming at me later.... heh.

It\'s kind of a bug with the upkeep, I emailed the guy, for that and also, sometimes you lose the cursor when your clicking like mad right at the end of the round (with 3 or d for convert)....

I can\'t actually visualize me possibly dying now, unless there is some sort of massive damage catapult or battering ram that\'s archer proof.  I\'m on 33 with 750 archers, 200 wiz, 200 eng (that\'s 200k upkeep, I make like 150k per round over and above it, lol).  I must have 400 unused converts :)

*EDIT*

Here\'s another reproducible bug I found (and told him about).... click somewhere, doesn\'t matter where, and press (a, s, d) a hotkey for spell casting, then release the button.  The cursor will be invisible after that (untill you hit someone with the spell, with an invisible cursor, so you have to find the edges, and then hit guys).... if you do that at the end of the round, the cursor dissapears till next round, and you have to hit someone again.

*EDIT*

Round 42.  I was hoping it ended at 40 or something :)

I\'m upto 1500 archers.

I\'m still playing, I\'m currently at 600 archers, 200 wizards and 100 engineers, everything above is overkill at the moment, I\'m just watching them die :D

btw. the last time I\'ve thrown a guy is a long time ago

how is it possible?? my guys kept on dieing every turn man!!

any tips??
Title: addictive... yet painful game.
Post by: politiepet on June 24, 2003, 02:24:48 PM
yes, as long as you make sure you don\'t spend all the money you have after a round on extra\'s you\'ll be fine.
for instance, when you have 10 archers working for you after a round, be sure, that when you are \'planning\' on buying 10 more, you\'ll have the money before the round starts, so to sum up: you already have 10 archers, which makes 10x200=2000, but that\'s not enough, cause you\'re planning on buying 10 more, so before you start that round you\'ll need 20x200=4000, capiche?

btw. I\'m currently at level 60, man those rounds get longer and longer! I have about 2100 archers, and aproximately 1000 converts, 80000 casualties and 16m points

I stopped when the game didn\'t end at level 50, since there\'s no possible way to die after that.  It\'s kinda stupid.... his other games end once you can\'t be defeated anymore (fish games, and so forth).

Heh, just tried this game today. Played until level 30, then I didn\'t really feel like going on. :)

BTW, what does those engineers do?

the engineers help fix yer castle.

im so sad, im at stage 91 with 300 wizards, 200 engineers, 3000 archers, 190000 casualties and 40 million points
Im only playing to c if the game actually ends now, ive not even clicked on the game since level 63 - just let the archers do the job. =]

I\'m on level 96. I have 600 archers, 150 repairmen and 60 wizards. Gotta keep the cost low. :)

600 archers are barely enough, ya know? The castle actually takes a slight beating. I\'ve stopped building the castle at exactly 100,000

forget this, stage 110, 60 million pts, 300 archers, 300 wizards, 300 engineers and 1002000 hp on the castle and then it freezes and i cant load for some reason!!

I e-mailed the makers and they say the game never ends - sorry for shatering the mystery =]

I\'m glad I stopped at 60 :D.

Too bad, too, all their other games end... the fish one ends when you\'ve "eaten all the fish in the sea", and are too big to die... heh.
