A teenage boy in New Delhi has begun passing winged beetles after hatching the eggs of a Staphylinidae rove beetle in his body. The 13 year old had been taken to hospital after complaining of pain whilst trying to pass water.
A doctor found the beetles when the boy was examined for pain. The beetles are over a half centimeter in length: "Doctors were really surprised to see the beetles," said the boy.
"There are eggs of the beetle in a fistula in his body and he is getting medical treatment to try to kill the eggs," said a spokesman. A Urology expert said that he had never heard of a case where insects hatch in the body and come out in urine.

I found the article on the source listed, but I tried backtracking it further (cause it\'s got all the makings of an urban legend - the human body is a generally inhospitable place for larger creatures), and I couldn\'t. I\'ll wait for a bigger newscarrier to pick it up, after all, yahoo reprints stories from all sources, including tabloids and such.
They re-published that story about getting cockroach eggs in taco-bell foods, but that turned out to be tabloid fiction....

Wow. Sounds freaky. Very freaky indeed!
Haven\'t decided whether to believe that story or not, though.

holy shit!
was he acting as a surrogate for some female beetle who couldn\'t have children?

ouch!

Yuck...don\'t know if it\'s true, but one of my biggest fears is having a bug growing inside of me. You know, like those stories you hear about bugs laying eggs in your skin and you have to put raw bacon over the wound to get the babies to come out. Yeah I know we all have microscopic beings living inside us, but the keyword is microscopic.

That really has to......ouch. Damn. I literally am speechless. I feel bad for the kid. Its probably exagerated though.
