Title: ad-aware
Post by: videoholic on June 18, 2003, 04:46:03 AM
Where can I get this program?  I can\'t find it on download.com and I don\'t know who makes the darn thing.  I have that stupid Gator Coporation spyware crap embedded and I can\'t get it out.  Kind of like my case of herpes.  Did I say that?

get spybot too..it catches a few spyware programs that ad-aware misses (for that extra clean feeling)

Just so you know, they update ad-aware and spybot weekly...so don\'t let your updates fall too far behind.

I hate Gator, it downloads itself onto your computer just by visiting certain sites. Comet Cursor is also spyware, make sure you delete that if you have it.

my wife used to click yes on almost every popup ad install window, and my computer ran slow as shit.  I ran ad-aware and spy-bot and they found nearly 100 pieces of spyware on my computer!

I run it once a week now and it still finds like 3-5 spyware programs....I hate that crap.

I had 290 problems.  Most all of them wire Miner who makes that Gator program.

Do I need to run it on all of the login accounts or does it scan the entire system?

nah, I don\'t like kazaa.  I tried it for a week and I think it blows nuts.  At least for what I wanted it for.  I;m sure it\'s great for porn, etc. but whatever...

I put Spybot in and got a bunch of hits as well.  Them bastards.

Actually, Kazzaa isnt even really good for p0rn. It\'s mostly small clips. Need to go to eDonkey or Newsgroups for the full p0rn movies...or so I\'m told.
