I\'ve had enough of this state! I\'m moving to Rochester, NY around July 4. No sales tax on groceries, concealed carry of weapons, Niagara Falls, gambling, no property tax on vehicles, lower cost of living. I\'ve been away from my family for 5 years, I guess I\'m finally tired of using all my vacation to go see them. I can\'t believe I didn\'t do it sooner.

Congrats. :)

You have taxes on groceries? That\'s retarded. Property Tax on Vehicles? What is that? Seems like Kansas should do something to make people want to stay, not leave.

Every year we have to pay a certain percentage of our car\'s worth to the government. It\'s part of the tag-renewal process. It was about $140 last year for my car based on a hmmm...maybe $8000 value. Imagine what yuppies have to pay for their escalades. Kansas is bad when it comes to taxes.

Oh, we have to register our vehicles to, but it\'s only like 40 bucks or so.

Welcome to the East Coast sara :)

You\'ve never lived in the Netherlands, that\'s for sure. I don\'t think there\'s a place in the world where taxes are heavier

/me points and laughs at all he people who have to pay taxes.

u guys should try moving here, NO TAXES on anything (well maybe on a few things that u might pass thru customs).
btw congrats Sara :).

I\'m in love with the east coast.. I couldn\'t imagine myself living anywhere else. Except the west coast maybe. Oh and watch that New England traffic on July 4!

living in fear of imminent terrorist attacks is the price you pay. Plus a tyrannical government.

hahaha, terrorist attacks are highly unlikely, Bahrain is way too small for anyone to hide anything. u could steal a bar of candy and if the police do their job (for once) u\'d be in jail in a few hours.
as for tyrannical govt. thats hardly the case. we have one of the best governments in the reigon.
just thought i\'d clear a few things :).

A couple questions Tyrant. Question the first, is Bahrain a third world country or is it very well developed? Question the second, how does your government make money without taxes? Questoin the third, can I move in with you :D ?

1.Bahrain is a second world country, it is developed to an extent but we are still not totally self sufficient
2.money is made thru foreign investment, banking, tourism and oil refining on the side.
3. seeing that Sammy wants to move in too, i guess we can fit u in a closet somewhere j/k ;).
