I know.. pretty lame topic, but it\'s all I got.
So. We dumped our long distance carrier. We now use the AT&T calling cards exclusively.
Sam\'s Club has 1250 minute cards for $37 plus tax, so for about $40 you get 1250 minutes. Plus NO exparation date.
That\'s 3 cent\'s a minute. Ok.. 3.2
There is NO service that beats that AFAIK. Nah! Were not cheapo\'s but with our regular line, DSL, and Long Distance our bill was always 100 or more a month.
It\'s a semi-pain pushing all those numbers but you get used to it.
Anyone else "carding it"?

I use my cell phone for long distance. It\'s free. Well it\'s included in the plan anyway.

When it comes to cell phones, I\'m still a luddite. Funny... I\'m mister gizmo otherwise. Hell, I just installed a touch screen thermostat for my house.
If I were to get one I would prolly get the "trac fone", it basically works off the same card deal. Buy a card with time on it, use it as you will, then buy another card. No suprises that way.
AND since the FCC (I think) ruled that cell numbers can be portable, assigned to people, I could keep a number no matter if I change service or drop-re sign service.

My company has a massive national contract with AT&T, and I get long distance service through them on a special program for employees. I thought I was getting a great deat at 5.23 cents per minute, but your system blows that away.
Oh well I hardly ever call long distance, so it\'s probably not worth to change.
-
Yeah, the extra 2 cents is worth not having to deal with the number crunching in your sit, I think.
"Normal" plans (meaning not the plan that Core gets for brown-nosing with his boss**) that tout the 5 cent line have fine print of a "connection" fee.
**that was for the dig in the other forum ;)

I just use my cell phone for long distance....since it\'s free. But I used phonecards all through college to call family and friends back home. I don\'t think I could stand dialing in all the numbers, but i\'d probably get used to it.

My local carrier gives me 60 min long distance free in w/my local fees and I usually don\'t go over that. If I ever start then I \'ll get a cell.
