this isnt really a big problem or anything its just starting to annoy me now

what is wrong with it?  Is it grainy?  Blurry?  If it\'s just the start button it could be something with your monitor, maybe the corner has been affected by a magnet from a speaker or something.

Not to sure what to tell you...can you be a little more specific?

Must be something wrong with your monitor because it looks fine here.  Does it only look bad on your monitor because of its location?  DO you have non shielded speakers next to your monitor?

yes i do have spekers next to it - is this permantly affecting the monitor - like damiging it in some way??

Go to display settings (right click on desktop, properties) --> Appearance tab --> Effects button --> the 2nd option should be checked with ClearType selected.

Click OK, apply and tell me if it changes.

u know if my speakers weren\'t magnetically sheilded, would they cause permanent damage to the monitor?

Thank\'s THX, I just did it on mine also and the font\'s are much sharper and clearer also.
