A girl I know just got a new mini dv camera. She is trying to make family vcds to play on a dvd player. I told her she has to convert the avi files to mpeg in order to use it in a dvd. Is there any simple program out there that will allow her to do this? I tried explaining tmpeg to her but had no luck. Help guys :crap:

nero will convert avi files to mpeg if u burn them as vcd or svcd.
You could also use tmpgenc.

Souly, doesn\'t that take more than 1 hour to convert?

Also try out a program called Ligox LSX, which is an mpeg encoder. has pre-configured settings to do VCD or SVCD. With Nero you have to get seperate plugins.. look on kazaa for either.

Can give her this address. DVDHelp (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/convert). There it explains all she need to know .

That tmpgenc program is excellent, very easy to use and understand, and its freeware.
