Its FINALLY been realsed down here and I had alittle fool around with it today. It didn\'t seem that bad. Camera\'s were alittle dodgy, and she seemed alittle stiff, but graphics and framerate seemed fine.
Anyone had a real good play of it yet with some impressions?

yeah I\'ve got it and I\'ve completed it Racer.
It\'s not THAT bad just a bit frustrating.
It\'s good and even though the camera is quite bad,once you get used to the fiddly controls then it\'s a good game to play.
It has nice touches to it and if you are a Tomb Raider fan then it\'s an essential purchase.
It gets harder as you progress and The puzzles when you get into the temple are sooooo hard believe me I nearly got rid of the game cause it took me 3 hours to do them and I mean 3 hours solid.
It\'s still got niggles and glitches in the game but you forgive Eidos because overall,the game is very good and I don\'t know if you have noticed the Strength upgrades yet.
But how they work is,that there might be a door for example that can\'t be opened but if you, say, push a crate later on you get upper body strength which will allow you to barge the door open.
You can also talk to other people to earn clues but you have to be nice otherwise they won\'t respond.
You get to control Kurtis near the end of the game although he doesn\'t get a major part in the game although you do notice him throughout the game but wonder whether he is a friend or foe.
I liked the touch where if you press L1 it switches to walk mode instead of having to hold it down,and then press it again to run.
There\'s loads of stuff to do and it will last you ages but there isn\'t any replayability value.
Nothing to Unlock (you get the Cradle Of Life Movie Trailer and Making Of from the start)
I\'d recommend it if you have the time and the patience to play it mate.

It surely can\'t be as bad as Indiana Jones and the Emperers Tomb, or Die Hard Vendetta.

It\'s a huge diversion from the previous games. The framerate only drops in certain areas and it\'s not a big problem. What is a big problem is things like the camera switching in the middle of your jump/climb causing Lara to turn around. Also even though she\'s not supposed to walk off a ledge while you have the walk button held down, she will every once in a while.
And on top of all that you need to keep multiple saves b/c there are bugs in the game that will keep you from progressing if you find them. The only way around them is to back up to a previous save.

It seems to me that no matter how much you slag it off,what you\'re doing is actually giving it more coverage and therefore you are slagging off a game which will sells hundreds of thousands.
you pick the wrong games to critisise don\'t you? lol

looks like there are a lot of impulse buyers out there :mecry:.
After all its the only real reason why TR is at number one and why EtM is still in the top 5.
i only hope it was a slow month for PS2 releases. :(

maybe,just maybe like me the majority bought it because they are fans of the Tomb Raider series.but yes there were people who bought it too cause of the name of the game.
50% enjoyed it,50% hated it,it\'s that simple.
It got awful scores in the mags and yes there are problems and it\'s crap at times I admit but overall it\'s a great game to me,which isn\'t one of these 2 day games which are over before it\'s even begun.
Everybody has played,completed and swapped Enter The Matrix now but it\'s still doing well cause it\'s a decent game.
plus the Hacking System cheats are good too.
(I mean the multiplayer games you get to unlock)

but to be honest,they are both short and I\'ve completed AOD and ETM and was I complaining?no...why? because I enjoyed the experience everytime I put them in my PS2 and played them.
mm if you sold out and started working for someone like GAME would you be this cruel and tell them not to buy it cause you think it\'s too commercial and because YOU hate it?

Well, I just hired the game, and I gotta admit that mm was right.
It took me over 4 hours just to finish the first 2 levels. The camera angles are aweful, and whats with having to using the analogue sticks? I much prefer the D pad for this kind of game, and its so difficult because you have to change directions mid pace simply because the camera angle changes.
I was very dissapointed, but knew it was probably going to suck anyway. Graphics are really quite nice, but its just virtually unplayable. I had absolutely no idea where to go when the helicopter was chasing me when I was on the tightrope on the third level thingo, and i just kept dieing. Its pathetic, unplayable because of aweful gameplay and camera angles, and the sad thing is that i bet they\'ll sell millions.
the best bit was the TR COL trailer...

The Getaway was shit I agree.
to be honest,both AOD and ETM are short and I\'ve completed them but was I complaining?NO!... and why not? because I enjoyed the experience everytime I put them in my PS2 and played them.

The funny thing about Tomb Raider AOD is that there aren\'t even any tombs...
So much for TOMB Raider, should\'ve called it "Parisian Apartment Raider\'.
I would rather do math then play AOD, and her boobs don\'t even bouce...

Also, whats with the camera spinning around Lara whenever she is stationary? Sometimes the right stick doesn\'t move the angle, so you have to what till it spins around to do a jump etc.
