Same here.. Now I wish I bought the 128MB version of my card.
The extra memory should come in handy in this game.

I can\'t access the page! :confused: So are they taking performance into account? Obviously not. DX8 hardware will show most of the same stuff that you\'ll see with a DX9 card, but run at a fraction of the framerate.. no doubt.

I still wonder if my ti4600(voltage modded) and Overclocked to 350mhz/740mhz will still be enough to play the game at 1280x1024 with 2x aa. I want smooth framerates, or else I buy the R425(aka 9900 pro)

I don\'t understand how anyone can play these games without AA, good resolution and 35 and above fps????

AA is useless when you run games at resolutions over 1024x768 :p

Sure it might look a little bit better, but I would not want to sacrifice any frames because of that.

I\'m sorry but either you guys are blind, or you have shitty monitors. At 1600x1200 AA is then useless, but at 1280x1024 on a 19inch monitor AA is still very much need to clean the image up of jagged edges, etc..

He do this for an experiment, start Unreal2 go into a level look at a complex secnery without AA, then turn 2x AA on and you will see.

I can\'t beleive you guys play you PC games without AA, must be consoles gamers I bet.

Dude the next generation of GC are right around the corner, 9800pro is nothing more than 9700 ultra.

Wait for thr R425 it\'s going to be 2 the power the 9700 pro.

i did that a long time ago using Unreal tournament 2003 the difference between playing at 1280x1024 (with and without aa/aniso) and 1024x768 (with 4x aa and 4x aniso) was harly noticable.

NO i Said Unreal 2, not 2003.

Games like Unreal2, Rallisport for the pc etc.. use alot of polys/textures with AA it\'s just stunning.

Ok, here is the best example. If any of you have Rallisport for the pc put the game at the the res we discussed play it with AA, then take the AA off, and you will see the jaggies everywhere, look at the back of the car, the tail and ligts, the trees etc...

^ok, i kinda agree with what you said now, especially when u mentioned a racing game.
i dont have rallisport but a while ago i had the pro race driver demo for the pc and at anything below 1280x1024 (with atleast 4xaa and 4xaniso) the game looked like utter crap.

Err, voltage modding is to further overclock a gf4, it\'s not a and thing.  

Pretty risky to voltage mod a gf4, i wouldn\'t even risk it. To much could go wrong, sense most boards are made different, different components etc. I couldn\'t understand why anyone would even try..

For those who don\'t know, it requires soldering and lots of risk is involved.

Not at all, as long as you know what your doing there should be no complications. The risk involved is not having proper cooling when doing this, as volt modding will increase thempatures.

I have volt modded "4" ti4600\'s so far, no problems. My ti4600 has been running for 7 months 24/7 and it\'s still chomping away.

You must understand your talking to Super Hardcore tweaker/overclocker here. I love playing with expensive toys.
You should see my lapping jobs on the chipset and heatsink.

Something about spending $450 and up for the latest hottest graphics card doesn\'t sit well with me.  I guess that\'s why I\'m happy I was able to pick up this particular card for free.  Oh and don\'t worry about the card staying cool either because it\'s cushioned by $450 of cold hard cash.  ;)

Volt modding isn\'t hard, it\'s risky,  I wouldn\'t even try it. (Unless it was someone else’s card) I\'d rather wait a little and buy a newer card. I\'d rather not take any unnecessary risks when it comes to pc hardware. I\'m on a string shoe budget. I can\'t afford to play around with expensive toys. What type of soldering iron did u use?

Imo, any physical mod to electronic hardware is stupid, the only thing I’d ever do to a component is sand down a cpu, heatsink or gpu.

Ps... How old are you?

My brother is an electronic engineer, so I have access to his tools, like his top of the line Weller solider iron.

As for the RISK, this piticualr mod\'s main risk is not having proper cooling. Like I said, I have not heard of anyone messing there 4600 up whom have done this mod properly

Trust me before I go and mess with hardware, I make damn sure I know what i\'m doing. You got to volt mod the 4600\'s cause they suck for overclocking, since they already have top yeilds.

anyone who does the mod properly won\'t  screw up, other wise they haven\'t done it properly have they lol.

the risk comes in when u ground to much voltage from IC, If not done right,  The IC will think the gpu isn\'t getting enough power and try to compensate.  That’s when u say goodbye to your gpu.  That’s why i say it\'s risky. Although if you know what your doing you shouldn\'t have any problems. But there\'s risks. I wouldn\'t attempt it simply because the risks are high. Any mistake from frying the resistor/variable resistor, because a soldering iron was too hot, from just using the wrong component = risk imo.

Paying hundreds for a card, then modding it = voiding warrenty = stupid. imo :)

I understand your point of here here souly my friend.  This sort of tinkeri8ng id really ment for the harcore inriched computer enthusist. I have a medium back in electronics so for me I have a very good idea of what i\'m doind, also I am mr coolman. I will attavh a pic of my G4ti4600 without the water cooler attached take a look at my next post
